However, today I do have a funny story to tell for those of you that have managed to stay awake and read this far into such a boring thread about a a boring SOV war. There were about 20 of us sitting on a gate camp, almost all of us in battlecruisers. You know the type of gate camp, boring ones that need to be done. Not a single red came through the gate the whole time we were there, that kinda boring. But, we at least had been given the 'Relaxed Comms' order by the FC, so we were telling jokes, singing Village People songs etc to pass the time away. Anyway, there we were, and in amongst us was an un-anchored SBU we had taken down that someone was going to be bringing a hauler out to pick up. We'd all been sitting at the gate camp for quite some time when suddenly an Itty pulls up beside the SBU, a red Itty.
Now, I have to admit, the first thing that entered my mind is, fsck, what's wrong with my stupid overview, why is he showing as red? It never for a moment entered my mind that some fool would fly an unarmed Inty into the middle of a fleet of enemy BC's on purpose. And, we were expecting a hauler to come and pick up the SBU anyway. Some one on comms says, 'that's a red Itty?'. Someone asks, 'what's he doing?' Someone else (might have been me  ) asks 'shoot it?'. The gate camp FC of course is yelling 'YES, F^@$!#& SHOOT IT!', but by then, it had loaded up the SUB and warped off. Leaving us all sitting there like stunned mullet.
Talk about fail hey! And cudos to the ballsy Itty pilot that did that. Unfortunately, neither the senior FC on the field, nor the gate camp FC seemed to see the funny side of this and we got a right dressing down worthy of any Warrant Officer I ever had when I was in the army.
Anyway, there at least is an amusing anecdote for anyone that has bothered to read this far into, what is otherwise a pretty boring thread about a pretty boring SOV war.
