Is it possible to join a NPC corporation like ORE http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Outer_Ring_Excavations_%28NPC_corporation%29
or is all i do is up my standing and never be able to join.
Question 2 - If i do up my standing with this corp what does that entitle me too exactly? just a friendly nod as we pass by the in the hall between bathroom breaks?
Question 3 - What are shares in corporations? and i am to purchase them? what is the beneifit?

You can't join any NPC corporation.
You start in a NPC corporation, but you can never return to it if you leave it. When you are not in any player corporation, you are assigned to a different NPC corp than you started, but always the same one.
NPC corp standings allow you to refine/reprocess with reduced tax ("We Keep" column), reduced brokering fees, access to mission and research agents (higher standing = better agents), and the loyalty points store when you have earned points doing missions (actually just need the points to access it).
NPC faction standing takes the place of NPC corp standing when the faction standing is higher. This is for agent access only.
Shares are just a way for some corporations to distribute earnings, or to assign leadership (voting rights). Most corps don't use them and the CEO hold them (or they sit in the corporate wallet where any director can grab them and vote him/herself CEO).

does every NPC corp have it own LP store? and if so is there a website that list what each corps LP store has?

You don't have to be IN a specific NPC corp to gain access to their LP store, you only have to get LPs by doing missions.
Just by being in a specific NPC corp you don't get any bonuses whatsoever towards that specific corp.
Simply put, what NPC corp you're in only matters if you're in a militia (the only NPC corp you can voluntarily join if standings are good enough), otherwise both the other NPC corps you can be in (you can never return to the first one if you leave it) only matter for is the corp channel membership.
