I recently started regaining my Gallente/Minmatar standing, made couple of hundred missions for Sisters Of Eve and finally I can safely enter Gallente and Minmatar space (last week had almost -9 towards both factions). As expected standing towards Amarr/Caldari/etc droped a little every time I got boost on Gallente standing.
After a while I went back to Ammatar space and got 10,5% standing boost after one storyline mission. As a result I got boost only on Ammatar, Amarr and lost only on Jove, Society and Syndicate.
I read about standing mechanics but I still don't get it. How that's possible it didn't drop on Gallente and Minmatar (they're both under -4 but still should drop, shouldn't it?) and left Caldari and Sisters of Eve untouched?

Derived standing changes formula for storyline missions
Should have changed a bit. Right-click on each and check their change history.

I know it should. I checked transactions with all the factions and no sign of it except for the ones I listed above.

In case anyone's interested it is possible storyline mission will not change your derived faction standing. GM replied to my petition saying:

You gain or lose derived standing based on how much a particular faction likes the faction you worked for, up to that amount. These adjustments are calculated using the base (non-skill modified) standings you have.
For example:
You gain standing with Caldari State. You would gain derived standing with Ammatar Fleet only if your standing was less than 6.00 because Ammatar Fleet likes Caldari State up to 6.00. You would lose derived standing with Gallente Federation only if your standing with Gallente Federation is higher than -5.00 because that is how much much the Gallente Federation dislikes Caldari State.
Alternatively, You gain standing with Ammatar Mandate. You would gain derived standing with Caldari State only if your standing was lower than 4.00 because that is how much Caldari State likes Ammatar Mandate. You would lose derived standing with Gallente Federation only if your standing with them was higher than -2.00 because that is how much Gallente Federation dislikes Ammatar Mandate.

You are right with the limits on derived standing changes. This has always been the case. You can still go lower than this with ship kills, but storyline missions won't make this worse once you hit the lower limit.
BTW, I *really* need to get round to updating the chart...
