The subject is EVE, and CCP... however the mod seems to feel the rules apply to even mentioning the abreviation of the game in passing... however people say WOW all the time... People troll and do stupid stuff all the time and nothing happens, but i've seen other dudes say realistic serious things and then been edited for trolling. thats why the eve forums arent usually taken so seriously. Try Kogu or scrapheap challenge Thats where most of the real EVE forum content is anyway.

And the thread did not derail is was saying how well eve is run compared to other games how is that a derailment? Since when is mentioning another game in passing a derailment of a thread? If you won't allow bashing of other companies and games, that is fine, but you can't just go around editing every post and locking every thread that even mentions other games and companies or compares them to CCP. If the focus of the discussion is not EVE, than move them to OOPE where other games and companies are discussed and bashed constantly. Also, IBTL and all that.

Mods discussions can be quoted out of context, completely misquoted or they have to waste time defending themselves, putting up with the libel or at worst reveal confidential information. Also mentioning other games and allowing it can open them to all sorts of problems with the other companies, especially if critical. Who here is willing to pay the legal fees, salaries and disruption costs of a simple C and D letter?
