The issue I had was that it no longer referred to "**(censored, heh, ing hell, uhh the word is "to be forced into a sexual act without consent")and pillaging", but instead to "loot and plunder" The issue the bug hunters thought I had was that "loot" and "plunder" appear in each others definitions in Merriam Webster's Dictionary. </info> <Flame On> " and pillage" is much more entertaining and accurate to the lifestyle of the EVE Online Pirate. The game is rated "T" for Teen and and pillaging is nothing new to any teen who has taken a world history class (think of the vikings, iirc they were a big part of Icelandic history), and especially not new to the caliber of people who play EVE(insult or not? you decide). The people who have been described before as "to nerds what nerds are to normal people" a sentiment that much of the player-base I've encountered wears as a badge of their intelligence and maturity. I don't understand why a company such as CCP, who themselves made the "HTFU Music Video", would be against "** and pillage" when referring comically to something pirates are known to do. It also bothers me considerably that much of the more adult content hidden in descriptions, item information and back story has been and continues to be nerfed constantly. EVE isn't the kind of game for 6 year olds without a clue in the world, it's played by adults and teens who are old enough to handle some off color humor, if we wanted Hello Kitty Online we'd be playing Hello Kitty Online. So if CCP could please pull their collective metaphorical heads out of their lawyers' collective metaphorical behinds and return to/ continue with the long and proud tradition of the surly, violent, harsh, and humorous world we pay for, it would be a refreshing change from the politically correct world devoid of self expression and bound by the iron red tape of censorship that I am forced to live in in real life. </Flame on> <Flame off> So what do you think? Am I off base? Has anyone else noticed the pattern of removal of content that could be considered offensive? I am aware that they probably don't want to offend people so they will continue to play/pay, but if something as small as these things would upset someone enough to quit, they wouldn't last the 14 day trial out anyway. TL;DR Filed Bug Report, item description nerfed into lameness, continues a pattern of softening edges and rounding off corners (not on ship models mind you, some of those shadows could put an eye out, but that is beyond this post) the world is becoming baby-proofed, game is not for babies, Politically Correct?, Lawyers?, <rage,rage,rage> if I wanted Hello Kitty Online I'd play Hello Kitty Online, What do you think? Am I wrong? How wrong am I? Soft shelled people wouldn't last 14 day trial anyway, no lost money there, why didn't you read the the big post?, it really is more entertaining. </Flame off>

EVE forums censor too much for a game that tries to be hardcore. Right now the forums might as well be part of Hello Kitty world for pre-teens.

And if they do, they could at least do it right. I mean, apparently it didn't occur to anybody that the current baby-proofed description doesn't make sense and sounds completely ******ed? The entire reason I choose to play Eve, and in all truth the reason I started playing in the first place, is because of its sharp edges. I don't want a game experience that babies me and coddles me. I find games like that condescending and patronizing, which is a major turnoff for me. The game isn't intended for children. It has a "T" rating for a reason. Personally I feel that censoring breaks the feel of the game; how can I believe it's a harsh, unforgiving world supposed to bring me to tears every time I undock when all the "bad words" are cleaned up? I'll go so far as to lolrp and say it breaks the immersion. Yeah, I just went there.

My guess is that it is something they have to do to get past ratings boards in certain countries or in general. The restrictions can be absurd.

As a company, they are making Eve for a profit. As the end users of said game, you are allowed to voice your opinion, good or bad, about the product or the direction of said product. That has nothing to do about "showing respect". That being said, I completely understand why CCP have the changes they have made.
