No more "Faint Warp Disruptors" and "Small Inefficient Armor Repair Units". Instead "Warp Disruptor- Meta level 4" and Small Armor Repairer-Meta Level 2."
Also add the faction items to the market (regardless of whether the naming convention described above is adopted).

What about two items that have the same meta level but different stats? It would require re-assigning meta levels to many items. Alternatively CCP could put the meta level in the bottom left hand corner of the item icon. So the upper right would be tech level, bottom right is the stack count, and bottom left would be meta level.

i like that idea
When ever i pull together my Scorp it sucks bing time going through my collection of ECM devices and not having a libraric knowlage of every deveice having to go through most of them to find my meta 5s as there equal to T2 but need less cpu and power cost.

Edited by: darius mclever on 23/03/2010 19:29:14 broken from the start: Compare Core X-Type Large Armor Repairer with Centus X-Type Large Armor Repairer. Both are meta14 items but different specs (cap usage/repair amount). For faction items Dark Blood Stasis Webifier, True Sansha Stasis Webifier, Domination Stasis Webifier, Federation_Navy_Stasis_Webifier. All are meta 9, but their ranges and slow down factor differ a lot.
Same goes for many other deadspace, officer and faction items.
All in all i think names are easier to remember than some weird meta level number, after a while you learn that you need j5 scrams or faint ones.
(edit: fixing typos)

Fair point with regard to faction gear, but I think this would still work on meta levels 1-4, which are fairly frequently traded on the markets.

What the previous idea of just adding the meta level to the icon graphic lower left corner? That should suffice to help sort through items on the market and in your hangar.
