As for the Amime sucks the eyes are too big crowd....
You guys ever heard of artistic style? I mean just because someting isn't photo realistic does not mean it sucks. "Man that Picasso sucks, look where he painted the ear!!!"

I do not get why pople diss anime/manga either.
Some anime (most notably childrens shows {so no difference form western kiddie cartoons really}) take "artistic style" style too far (or rather, make no attemp to actually draw well at all), but there are some good animes out there story wise, and with good detalied drawings as well.
And I don't need to be a weeaboo to appreciate that. In fact, I got no intention of learning the language, taking on their culture, or moving to Japan etc, I just enjoy a good show once in a while. I never watch an anime if the story is crap and rubbish, regardless of how skimpy clad the girls are (I got **** for that). Now, I haven't seen too many animes, and the few I have seen include such series as Hellsing (and OVA), perhaps not the best story, but at least a bit interesting.
Each to his own though, if you don't like it, you don't like it.

They saw Dragonball/Pokemon/Transformers/80s shows that were badly dubbed and think it is all like that.
I'd see an EVE anime/manga to be a bit more Ergo Proxy rather than Ghost in the Shell, although I can see it getting much more sales from horny guys wanting to ogle over the characters if Shirow drew them...

Thanks for all the feedback everyone!, and yeah i usually dont draw anime it was experiment and example picture was a quick draft drawing of possible styles of eve anime themed characters but i did do more of darker themed style as suggested.
I made a quick conversion of style of one of the characters and here it is so far (different style) of course i'll refine look/curves and characteristics as well as details for each race, and will make more darker in a scene. as said its a WIP. (work in progress) !
Might do a short interactive novel with voice overs / static characters first to do a trial run, with multiple endings etc. to refine the process

Please don't ruin eve with ****ty Japanese anime. *shakes head* that stuff is so pathetic. Infact, keep Anime AWAY from eve all together. You want to make a CG movie, make a CG movie, but don't make a bloody cartoon ffs. Flame away.

hehe, what about a surreal style: (link) like i said i open to idea's but with incarna coming anyway I don't want to spend months making 3d models for nothing, prefer to have fun and draw, but still not sure the style, and i aint no pro.

I'd say take time to learn how to do CG properly then come back to the project. If it looks ****ty, chances are it is. Pretty common rule of thumb with CG movies. If you want quality, take the time to achieve it, put the effort in.
Oh and if you think Incarna is really coming in a matter of months... might wanna check CCP's history on that expansion ;) It was supposed to be out years ago.

I love the idea, but if you must use anime stick to more realistic styles like Ghost in the Shell and Ergo proxy as others have suggested. The more cute anime style like your first designs really doesn't suit eve at all. Anime is a Japanese thing, better left to the Japanese to make imo. You will probably find many people would much prefer a more western style. Personally i wouldnt mind something similar to this but that's just me.
Im glad to see your being very open to suggestions though but in the end do whatever you want to do!

i agree, it will be harder to pull off but worth to try as i like it too!, Here is a older concept idea of the process from rough draw to in a scene to show how easy it is, once the sketches for character are done, its pretty easy to color them all the same, and seamless animate them in the proper program, example: getting up from a chair and walking to a door is about 30 or so character drawings, coloring them is easy. and is done after as is lighting/shading effects. all at same time, while switching back and forth to make sure its seamless from frame to frame (link)

On the whole though, you get 'anime' or 'manga', and then you get 'poorly drawn anime' and 'poorly drawn' manga (and animation in the case of the anime).
Not to be mean, but as someone that has seen both well and poorly drawn anime and manga for the past 12 years, I have to say that I would not be able to bring myself to watch your animation if your characters will be drawn as they are in your example pictures, Aixa.
With some work on consistency in proportions, perspective and most importantly, *some* definition of muscle tone (even just the tiniest bit of shading), I might be able to watch it without cringing at the visuals.
Story can easily carry something for me.
Audio can, as with visuals, completely destroy it for me if I want to reach through my speaker and strangle whoever is talking.
*edit* Or you could just, well, drop the pretense of doing this in a fashion that could be described as 'anime' or 'manga' and instead just state that the style is 'inspired' by anime/manga from any particular artist or drawing style within the genres :|

Characters need alot more character something to try to define them a bit more, at the moment they all seem rather bland remakes of each other using the same base.

Its a realy nice idea, i know there are those here who look at such things and go Yuck!!!! But i have to say your charecters are pretty close to what they should be and as long as you dont make it too over the top with the humour [and NO tenticle monster please] And create a good storline i think that this could do well.
