My current stats are all in mem/int so any gun/ship skills are slow as hell. Before I use my respec for per/will I have an almost 4 month plan what support skills I want to train just to be more efficient.
Obviously I have pathetic gun skills and killing anything bigger then a cruiser is a pain. I can fly a Domi and the first thing on on my plan is to train drone skills so I can mission.
I have 2 questions:
1. Can L4 missions be done with just drones ? I heard that the domi can just tank everything while drones kill stuff. Does it not take ages to do as drones have far less dps then guns?
2. Is it really worth it to get T2 heavies and sentries ? Getting Mediums is easy, but those buggers will be 20+ days each so I wonder if the investment of 1,5 months is really worth it ?

1. Yes. And yes it is painfully slow.
2. Sentries are worth it for missions. I'd not bother with heavies unless you want them for PvP though.

Absolutely!!!
I use a Rattlesnake w/ 4 cruise launchers and T2 Drones(Gardes, Wardens and Hammerheads) and can complete a normal lvl4 in under 20mins and Guristas extrav in under 1hr. I don't have many missile skills but 5.8mill SP in drones and they are good in lvl5s too

Yes, you can fit a nice Domi droneboat and rule any lvl4 mission, however, like other poster wrote, takes abit longer to finish missions with drones. But if you in no hurry, fit a Domi, a good tank and start the killing :)

As much as Kapiche said.
The Domi is the perfect AFK L4 mission boat. And yes, with drones only, it will take some time to finish mission.
Anyway youŠve got more than one method to do it.
First you go with double LAR, capstable. Get aggro, deploy drones and get some beer. DonŠt do that in missions like Angel Extravaganza, Worlds Collide and like that. Your drones might die when rats are retargeting, which sometimes happens, and when afk your domi dies.
Second you go single LAR when more experianced, have some big guns on your domi for DPS support, and some magstabs in free low. This is no afk setup, but you will finish mission faster.
Last thing to heavy drones. As when your sentries are out, you canŠt move very much beside orbiting them, and when rat battleships comes near (less than 20 km for me) your sentries start lacking DPS. This is the time now pulling sentries in and deploy your heavies, at this time they finish a big ship faster.
Hope this helps.

hmm, strange, my Garde IIs still do as much damage when NPC is 3000m as when 30km. Just did Damsel in
Distress in 22mins and the BSs get really close

You might be right, as i use Warden II for starting firing at 90 km distance, and Gardes have a much higher damage multiplier, for shorter range of course.
So both advices should be right, and if the op doesnŠt want to spend the time for skilling heavies, your way might be his way.

You can fit a domi so it's overtanked but you won't lose it. If you use sentry drones, it will take a while to do, but you can do them afk. But if you fit your dominix correctly, you get nice dps and a sufficient tank. Browse loadouts on Battleclinic when it's back up or PM myself on Battleclinic and I can help you find a nice fit.

Thanks a lot for the replies.
I am pretty bad with figuring out how all the stats work so I can't seem to understand if there is a big difference in damage between T1 and T2 drones ? For example the 22 days I would spend to get sentries V is the same as drone interfacing V and the latter gives an amazing 20% bonus unlike 5% from sentries.
And one more question - how do damage bonuses stack ? For example with drone interfacing V you get +100% damage with sentry interfacing another 25% and with BS at 5 another 50%. Would that give a total of 175% or is it calculated in a different way ?

There may be occasional missions (such as killing the target objective in Vengeance when he spawns with a big active tank) where drone dps just isn't enough. Drones + not very well skilled medium blasters may well suffice though.
The thing about going to sentry drone interfacing v is that it doesn't just give you a 5% damage bonus, it also unlocks the T2 sentries. T2 sentries do 20% more damage, have 20% greater optimal and falloff and also 20% better tracking. Not only are you hitting harder, you're hitting further and you're applying much closer to your maximum damage because you're missing less.
Throw in 2-3 omnidirectionals and they hit much more and this justifies adding a sentry damage rig which boosts their damage again.
I was very unexcited by sentry damage vs heavy drone damage until I hit sentries v and switched to t2 sentries, now I use sentries most of the time.

I work for Federal Intelligence at Level 4, and my Dom is fitted with a small laser to attract aggro. The Tech II drones do all the killing, and they do it rather quickly. Typically, I carry Wardens for the long-range (30-125 kms), Gardes (3000 meters-45kms) for the close-ups, and Hobs take care of any frigates that have gotten through. Since I tend to burn through the missions quickly, I cannot really see the need to equip any other type of firepower. How much faster than fast can fast be?
Are Sentries II worth the effort to train for? Totally. Heavies II? I haven't bothered.
