Im the kinda guy who hangs out in .6 to .5 but ive been getting that urge to go to .4 and stuff. I hear the rook seems to be a deacent lowsec ship. Any PVE fittings for the rats that can also handle the average pirate looking for a kill? battleclinic seems to be down.

a PvP setup rook should be able to handle a couple of rats reasonably well I killed a couple BS rats in a setup like this one before. 9they were shootin a ship that pilot had ejected from)
Ballistic Control System II 'Hypnos' Signal Distortion Amplifier I Power Diagnostic System II
Large Shield Extender II Y-T8 Overcharged Hydrocarbon I Microwarpdrive Invulnerability Field II Invulnerability Field II 'Hypnos' Multispectral ECM I 'Hypnos' Multispectral ECM I ECM - Spatial Destabilizer II
Heavy Missile Launcher II,Havoc Fury Heavy Missile Heavy Missile Launcher II,Havoc Fury Heavy Missile Heavy Missile Launcher II,Havoc Fury Heavy Missile Heavy Missile Launcher II,Havoc Fury Heavy Missile Heavy Missile Launcher II,Havoc Fury Heavy Missile
Medium Core Defence Field Purger I Medium Core Defence Field Purger I
(or you can do swap those rigs for the ones that give better ECM depends what your doing with it really)
If your gonna PvP in it solo you obviosly need a warp scrambler/disruptor, otherwise PvP with a friend in an inty to tackle stuff.
Fairly solid fit I think, Comments Welcome though.
For ratting you'll probably be just as well off in a Cerberus if you wanna use an expensive ship or even a HML Caracal.

I'm assuming the Rook so you can get away if jumped by a pirate?
If that is the case why not use a good PvE ship and just keep and eye on direction scan?

make sure you "UNCHECK" use active overview settings when using d-scan so you can see probes as well.

Don't bother ratting in low sec, it's just not worth it. Either L4 or 0.0 rat (join an alliance or try your luck in Providence).
Also, unless you find a very quiet low-sec system you might get jumped by a gang... one in a covops right next to you... several in RR battleships and ... probably a carrier ready to hot-drop you.
Low sec is fun for PvP in gangs but for solo ratting.... yeeesh :)

Not so much ratting as it is exploring. Ive heard the rook can be a mean ship if fitted properly, and its a eh-hem... 'cheap' ship.

Alright, forget the whole dam thing... just realized that a manticore will do just fine for exploring XD
