Brand new PC, no AV even installed yet (priorities  )
Windows 7 64-bit
Intel Quad Core Processor 2.34ghz
8GB Ram
120 GB OCZ Vertex 3 SSD
Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti
25mb internet
Open NAT on Cisco cable router.
Download the first EVE_Online_Installer_394018.exe
After a while it completes downloading and begins expanding, and ends with "Archive extraction failed: 3"
and a link download from http://community.eveonline.com/download/?fallback=1

I run the .exe, gets maybe 80-90% in and ends with "Archive extraction failed: 3"
I deleted all the files everywhere, tried downloading again. Did this a couple times.
I go into the CCP folder, run the repair tool that is now there. It downloads a new version repair tool, reports that eve.exe is not in the folder, continue anyways? I click yes. If lists all kinds of missing files, and starts downloading a patch. Patch stops at 80.0%. I let it sit there for about 1/2 hour and no change. I have to use task manager to close out the repair tool.
I try running the tool again, stops at 80% again, have to task manager to close again.
I only have 80GB bandwidth for the month, trying to get this installed has used 21GB and its only the 4th.
Seeing this was going no where, and was going to use up all my bandwidth for the month trying to fix it the "CCP" way, I tor open my old PC, grabbed the drive and stuck it into my new PC, copied the CCP folder over my existing CCP folder, and Viola, I'm back in game.
That's just messed up, horrible way of having to install a game. |

Exact same problem here. Can't install on a new Windows 7 64bit PC. I've tried downloading the packages manually and it seems the second one (2of2) is corrupt and won't open with 7zip or the installer no matter how many times I download. |

Since the CCP's are not responding I'll try this, you people that have better bandwidth perhaps can try it faster than me:
I found the offline installers for the patch before current.

I have loaded the files. Can open them with 7-Zip now -> improvement
- Now i got an error when trying starting launcher.exe or eve.exe
- starting repair tool -> 10minutes patching and downloading.....
- still get Errors when starting launcher "See the logfile D:\EVE\launcher.exe.log"
Complete new Win 7 x64 Installation....

Definitely will try that, is awesome hope you guys help but seeing zero response from CCP also is very disturbing, I see they comment on the other treads but no this, so I guess we're on our own.
Will try to help with feedback after trying to install the new one, Win7 Ultimate 64x brand new. |

i know this is going to sound goofy, but i looked at a couple of the errors screenshots, few things came to mind.
1. turn of UAC and restart the PC. Once restarted, try to launch again. I noted some cmd scripts that try running in the background that could hiccup on UAC.
2. Double check that C:\program files (x86)\ccp\eve\bin\exefile.exe was properly given access through windows firewall. I had to manually make the entry both TCP and UDP.
3. Right click on the launcher.exe and select run as administrator. Should carry the admin priv to the repair tool, but if not, you can also try running the repair tool as admin.
4. restart the computer in safemode with networking (F8 at startup) , try running the launcher or repair.
some of the reason for the above crap is the installer app may not be giving itself appropriate installation permission to write in the program files folder, something windows gets itchy about.
I know some other mmos found a way of bypassing this hiccup system, if it encountered a permissions based error, it would install into the C:\Users\Public\ Public Games folder. |

Downloaded it via steam, seemed to resolve the problem with the CCP Installer, I'm just waiting it to finish and I'll edit the post after seeing if it works :) |
