Just trying to figure out how the following scenario could happen...
My corp has a system wide buy order up for "item A" Which shows as the highest green order when this character is viewing the market docked in station.
My alt sells 100K units of "item A" from same station using quick sell at and the price is what my corps buy order is for. BUT the item is instead sold to someone else not my corporation.
Befuddled I recheck and I still only see one green order for the price my corp is buying. I sell 1 of the item in question using quick sell again and this time my corp is the buyer.
Is there something with minimum quantatites on buy orders that makes them not show green when viewing the market.
I also have a feeling this is why this particular buy order is seeing almost no action even tho it looks to be the only one at this price when viewed on my market screen. Or at least the only one easily spotted by being highlighted green.

I believe this may be an ID error of the 10T variety. ... :cough: ...
-----
Assuming you order buy orders by price descending, scroll down and locate the top most green buy order. Opening your Wallet>Orders tab confirm that the price, number of units, number of jumps, range, min volume, and expiration date all match. Once this is done, confirm that there are no other buy orders at the same price.
If two buy orders are at the same price the older is filled first.
Additionally, filtering options(under the Market>Settings tab) may block your view of some market orders(not likely the case here but keep it in mind).
Lastly, it is possible that between when you refreshed the market page and when your alt sold the goods someone put up a buy order for the exact quantity and price specified.

This is the only green order at that price and it is the highest green order. And yes orders are sorted highest to lowest.
I have been able to repeat this market behavior, this time, selling 99 units (went to the corp order) and 14K units (went to other buyer) both at the same price.
I'll check the setting as suggested and see if I can find anything there that is filtering out orders.

Check your autopilot settings. The green highlighting is not guarenteed to check all orders or use the shortest route. If there is a system that is 7 jumps away via your current autopilot settings, but 5 jumps away using the shortest possible route, then the client may not highlight that order if it has a range of 5 jumps, but that order would still take priority over your order.
As for the ID 10T error, it is an odd IT joke. He was just trying (and failing) to make himself look smart while calling you dumb.

Edited by: Busy Bob on 29/03/2010 18:14:27 There has to be a missing part of your story or part of it is not correct. You say you sold "in the same station." But you don't say that you confirmed the existence of a buy order that isn't green while you are in the same station with it. For now, forget green for a moment. Was there another order or not? And did you confirm that the sale was at the same station as the viewing character OR, perhaps, in the same system (i.e. the other order is in the same system, different station, with a range of 'station').
Previous poster laid out most of the other possible problems. Since there is no bug, there has to be some sort of missing info or error. |

Edited by: Chigger Troutslayer on 29/03/2010 18:34:08 Edited by: Chigger Troutslayer on 29/03/2010 18:28:07 Thanks for the reply. It was indeed the autopilot setting. The offending order was older and for a 100 unit minimum with a 5 jump range. Changing my AP setting changed that system from 26 jumps to 4 jumps away.
Edit to say that when I changed the AP setting this order changed to green upon refreshing the market window.
Also reason for the huge change in number of jumps is that the system has 3 gates. 2 are to different region, 3rd is to low-sec of same region.
