I am tasked with killing a couple of people flying T1 frigs and cruisers.
Now there are 3 restrictions:
1) They won't leave hi sec (despite being in a "PvP corp" (no, they are not RvB )) so suicide it is.
2) The used character can only fly Minmatar ships (can cross train to something else, but I suppose the lack of specialization would hurt).
3) I must always achieve them to get podded in the process, this suggests me a disco?

Well then your only choice is smarts if deccing isn't possible; disco geddon is the most popular for this I believe. You could also try and catch them in 0.6 system where might have just enough time to finish the pod as well before the concorde arrives at the scene. To catch a pod all you need is a sebo+scram but since corde ECM's you immediately to hell and back your only weapon of choice is either low security system or high slots full of smarts.

if the crusier has a reasonable amount of EHP (plated in any way) a smartbomb battleship is going to struggle to do enough DPS to pop it before concord arrives even in a 0.5 system.
use an alt to scan the marks crusiers and see what EHP EFT says then you'll know what you need, for frigates the smartbomb BS is fine so long as you can catch him far enough away from stations and gates for smartbombs to activate. A typhoon will do this nicely.
a full gank tempest / maelstrom might do enough dps for the cruiser but not get the pod. have a second character ready for the pod with multiple sebo thrasher? no need to point it just one volley it.

Your ordered to allways achieve a pod kill in high sec and are considering throwing battleships at them.
ok, have you considered the possibility that the person ordering you to do this is an idiot? Can think of a couple of situations where this seems valid (high profile players where grief is priceless/ppl with 500mil in implants) but most likely that's not the case or you wouldn't be asking here.

Depending on the shiptype the enemy is/are flying, it might not be possible to achieve a shipkill + podkill with just 1 person.
If you have 2 accounts at your disposal (or a buddy), this makes things easier.
The cheapest/surest way to get a podkill is to fly a T1 cruiser (rupture) with 6 T1 medium smartbombs and some buffer+speed+agility.
Basically what you do is set approach on the hostile ship (or keep at x meters if you must) and have your buddy kill his ship, then once his ship exploads, you fire up the smartbombs.
proof: podkill: http://mamba.eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=1404965 myship: http://mamba.eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=1407149 (it doesn't show mods cuz its an old KM, and I'm not sure how exactly I had it fitted, but I will assume 6x T1 med smartbomb, T1 mwd/ab, cap rechargers/relays and perhaps a T1 1600mm plate and DC)
This was after my corp ganked his freighter in gank bs's while he was approaching a gate from 15km (dunno why he did that lol).

surest I have seen so far is a friend flying interceptors. I'm not sure what exact fit he uses but I've seen him take both mentioned shipclasses down without taking much damage and getting a pod every single time.
(I think he was using the claw?) |

Thank you, I think the smartbomb rupture is a deal, as I forgot to mention that the affected targets need some agility to be pinned down and catched once they understand what's going on. A BS would have much greater difficulty.
So, phase 1 = tempest, phase 2 disco rupture. - Auditing & consulting

Using a claw (inty) instead of a rupture has both an advantage and a disadvantage:
- advantage: you can engage at 'longer' range, you are faster, you can provide tackle if it is really necessary - disadvantage: if it is a surprise gank, you shouldn't really 'need' the speed and tackle of the claw, and the rupture should do the job with sufficient efficiency. The big difference however is that a rupture cost neigh to nothing after insurance payout, the same however can not be said about the claw! __________________________________________________
