meh not too much like dota. Permi death and 15-30 upgrades, imp makes it quite different. not to mention the creep can't touch you at all, even at level 1.
I really REALLY love star battle
Not as good as the best "dota" type game though. which has sadly gone without update for a year. Armada online. It has been in alpha for 5 years now? Stupid game : ( it's such a blast, some of the best dota gameplay ever made. you have no idea what your missing out on. But the game has no support, and no new content for a year. so...
And it's unfinished....

couple questions...im new to bnet and i seem to find it different than when I was there about 15 years ago?
I click on star battle type game and get auto joined to a game lobby, is there any way to see individually hosted games and join? How otherwise would me and a friend or a pre made team join the same game?
also you guys that love to play could you take me on and help me out?
im doing fairly well with the BC. I love the carrier but I am not useful with it IMO. I turn my BC into a damage dealer. I go (3) speed (2) laser, longbow and warp upgrade in the beginning. Want to get out and farm fast. Then I keep putting into longbow/laser on a 2-1 basis and range. So I am a long range dealing hammer of death, to get that extra range when a guy is going down and turning tale and running. Works well for me even being new.
Pwn facing guys even in pairs some times, melting them to retreat levels of hp fast.
But I can't find my stride with the carrier, I do not think i get how the interceptors work, there is a button to launch interceptors even on the BC, but it only launches when facing forward? Do intys launch from carriers otherwise? because it seems the intys of a carrier are different than the ones which launch with that button. |

SOON they will finally make a real custom game "arcade" it's in the beta build right now you can download check it out.
As for star battle.
You
ve got the idea down, going out and farming to start. To use the carrier well your going to need to tech to scouts as well. Now it does require a hotkey press to launch your fighters, just make it a move towards them. The upgrade to make them launch faster is pro.
Now the tip is not focus on them. Focus on one other weapon system, lasers or missles, use scouts to farm, leave them places to kill npcs. And tech up for end game with the black hole. Once a player is in there your BC teammates can nuke them, muhahaha
