If anyone can help, would appreciate it, this happened just after the last expansion. been semi afk since then, hoever when i open up the map in game, eve client seems to freeze. i cant close the map.......any solutions?

I'm having this problem too.
Open the map and it gets stuck on the initializing box.
You can press escape to to get rid of the box and do other stuff... you just can't close the map without reloading the client.

I have this problem as well ... it appears random - at least it does not happen every time I open the map .. but it happens often enough.

i am having the same issue...
initializing map get to 100% and game freezes until i hit esc
then everything works, save leaving the star map (f10/clicking leave button dont work)
this occurs every time i open the map, whether i am docked or not.
this has been happening for more than a week and still no word?

I am experiencing the same problem. Map loading status gets to 100% and then hangs there. I had this problem before and did a complete wipe and reinstall of eve. After the reinstall I didn't have the map bug any more... for a while. Just now I clicked on the map button and the game seemed to freeze for a moment. Then, after it entered the map screen I was right back to where I started (a character unable to use the map, which is fantastic out in 0.0). What in the world is going on CCP?

I would like to add that I am having the same exact problem. hitting f10 does not close the map screen after the problem occurs.
Also BA thanks for the chuckle. no one ever remembers Mr Ts character in the A team

I've been getting the same issue as well.
On the same PC, however, the map works with another character.

Atfer resubbing this one had my tearing my hair out for a little while. However I just worked out how to fix this without resetting your cache, so here's a bump.
I did this while docked, not sure if being in space affects it.
1. Open the map as normal and wait until the bar 'loads' all the way to the end
2. Click on the bar and press escape
3. On the map menu, go to Star Map, Stars, then select anything under Statistics
4. Hit the Unflatten button, followed by Flatten again and you should get control of the map itself back.
5. Pick something else under Statistics for good luck, then close the client
After restarting you should be able to open and close the map again as normal.

I'm getting the same problem using the same client two accounts One works great the Other Locks on star map load
I will try the above steps when I get home to see if that will work.

I can also confirm this works. Thanks a ton! I've been facepalming while FC'ing the past 4 months over this.
