A meetup for the long neglected players living in Washington DC and nearby Virginia and Maryland. We'll start in NW DC and, if things take off, make it a regular event with the meetup location changing between DC, Maryland and Virginia. RSVP below or in game (so I know if a need to reserve a table, or just a couple of bar stools).

ok. Date has been cleared. I am in. Probably be closer to 6.30 till I get there due to work and I haven't decided if I am going to metro or drive, although the red line is mighty handy.
Is Aleks on the cupcakes again?

actually it was Chocolate. He doesnt ***** about with butter cream. He brought along enough for everyone, I know realise the first one is always free.

Did you just call the red line handy? We're talking about the metro line that has killed a fair amount of people over the years, right? And always is delayed due to construction?
Its a hike up from my normal watering hole at the Ebbit, but I'll try and make it.

Why yes I did.
But I drive 270 every day so the danger is relative, but I work 5 minutes from the Twinbrook station and the Tenlytown stop is right outside. So I might chance my luck :)

There was a good turn-out of DC area capsuleers for the meet-up. Mission accomplished.
All in all a pretty good cross section of the Eve Community showed up. Priest Kristoph showed up in full priest regalia as promised. He brought back-up with him in the form of his corp-mates Jeb Bute and Dendel Hypermach from R-K Industries (Quixotic Hegemony) as well as capsuleer emeritus Darian Eldath. CSM member and Noir Mercenary Group CEO Alekseyev Karrde put in an appearance wearing a stylish Noir logo shirt (note to self: Need to get the Noir logo coffee mug). Alek's legendary cupcakes were sadly missed but, fortified with beer and chicken wings, we bravely soldiered on. Hedonox/Gold Geisha (he of many names) from Silver Octopus (Infernal Octopus) waxed rhapsodic regarding his gaming station, which he's set up to imitate the main control console for the Nostromo from the movie Alien, complete with multiple screens and overhead switches. Shimozu Shinta from Northstat Cabal (Fatal Ascension) came in all the way from Baltimore. He and Sinna Sec from Valar Morulis (presently of Gentlemens' Agreements, soon to be of Goonswarm Federation) led the CFC cheering section. With no NC[DOT] or SoCo pilots in attendance, the CFC jeers in that direction went unanswered. Redlack of lowsec's Inner Shadow (Nightsong Directorate) held forth on how, when it comes to FCing, it's better to be lucky than good. The ever-genial Proximus Altima out of Un4seen Development and Roger Lynx from Pew Pew Inc (Altair-Zania Ventures) filled out the table, with Redlack's young lady friend braving the cloud of Eve chatter to bring our Jolly band to a lucky thirteen.
As the event broke up it was agreed that another meet up was in order and that it should take place early in the Fall. The torch of meet-up host has been duly passed to Priest Kristoph who will make arrangements for the next gathering, this time in Silver Spring.
Thanks to all who took the time to attend. It was great meeting all y'all, and I'm looking forward to an even bigger turn-out in the Fall. |
