maybe have the makers of clear skys make a full scale move and charge for it... i know i would pay for it. if CCP did make a move i can see it being a huge hit within the scifi industry kinda like serenity but outside of that i dont think they would get much out of it. would be really neet though..

If Incarna comes, Expect a ****eload of EVE machima similar to Clear Skies, hopefully some of it will be good.
It would take duke nukem forever if CCP made a movie. Hell it probably took them 4-5 months to make that 4-5 min clip in the trailer for Dominion.

need more movies where the main character is the villain for once, and you just know EVE is perfect for that
agree, but it would be a great for an anti hero too.

how about this for a movie topic:
A battle between two alliances tryin to survive out in 0.0. Character development happens as minor skirmishes, trying to protect minors and patroling the gates. Both alliances are neither good nor bad. They are just trying to do what any good corp would do, expand and step on eachothers toes. The plot thickens when the two alliances get into an epic battle over the rights of a star system that each alliance borders. They each bounce in their fleet, and are doing battle near a stargate, when a wormhole opens up and a new enemy appears and nearly wipes them both out. The climax of the story happens when the two alliances befriend eachother, and combine forces to wipe out the new foe, who are super advanced rogue drone units. I think that would detail eve quite nicely.

Originally by: Elizabieta Bathory Wow, I could imagine a female pilot of a mining barge located in 0.0 talking to her children over intergalactic communications when she's suddenly attacked by pirates, and when the communications fail to abort, her children listen as she calls, begs, and cry's for assistance (All while the song "Nouvelle Rouvenor hero" plays in the background), as she pled's for assistance, from other ships that are just too far to reach her in time to save the day.
After the attack is over, I hear the children crying, mommy, mommy oh no, my mommy's gone with a dead silent response. The corporation suddenly realizes that the children may have heard as their mother dies and the corporation operations states "oh my God, please tell me that the children didn't hear the pilots cry's for help, please tell me they didn't hear their mother's cry's" "

I think some one asked this long time ago. If I remember correctly, CCP is allowing movie rights, But no one in the Hollywood is tacking up the offer.

That is because movies are filmed at 24 fps thru the entire movie. The studios are not too keen on slowing that down during the fight sequences.

how the hell you get 24 FPS comment out of my post? I was talking about Movie rights to make a movie about eve. not filming the in-game footage...

If they started from the arrival, failure of the Eve gate, the Factions developing and then the road to war; It might make for an interesting movie. If a lame story like Battle Star Galactica did well enough that it has been re done a few times, anything is possible.

Babylon 5 is over there somewhere, or try your local Forbidden Planet for box sets.
Anyway, an eve-3d-cinematic-experience (let's face it films from games are rarely fun Doom remember lest we forget!), could be filmed like [insert title here], which is a name I can't remember or find sorry.
The title may not be memorable but it was a good film made on a lowish budget.
If there can be a fan fest play a film script shouldn't be that far behind.

It's a pretty subjective topic but generally most game based movies are mediocre at best. But some have appealed to a small niche.
But here is the part that excites me. As far as I'm concerned, EVE is the first stable MMO to stay true to developing a traditional MMO that has not once strayed from its roots.
Maybe they'll be the first to develop a movie that stays true to its game and produces something very entertaining.

I agree, I'm actually more interested in a movie about the EVE universe, rather than trying to approximate some 0.0 alliance warfare, some aspects might be incorporated into the movie but I would rather that the focus be on the EVE Universe. In fact, it should probably be a few movies, focusing on major aspects of eve at a time. I.e.
First some kind of an "introductory" movie, ala the old eve intro. This has a wide spectrum of options, maybe starting on Earth with a few major storyline characters who's fate revolve around the construction of the EVE gate and its collapse, entrapment of the pioneers in New Eden, the dark times, the rising of the five factions and their great wars and so on. This of course is impossible because of the sheer length of the timeline, but a solution might be to depict the rising factions as some kind of mirrors of the pioneers, regarding personality and so on, but it might be too cliche... maybe the best approach would be different movies with different characters.
Anyways, would be awesome to see:
1. Earth pre EVE-gate construction, the story following some characters traveling to EVE, EVE-gate collapse.
2. Rise of the factions, the great wars (probably material for a whole movie in itself).
Ultimately, the a good EVE-movie would probably focus on only a few characters whose circumstances (only single or handful of pod pilot characters) and fate make for an interesting story in an interesting universe.
Hell, make a movie about some Minmatar slave somehow becoming a pod pilot and having some kind of a wild adventure in EVE, where he must face challenges testing his loyalty to his nurturers and his race. Some evil Caldari corporation guy plotting something dreadful against some Gallente planet, only getting caught up in it by chance because of a merc job or something, saving some hot Gallente chick and become obligated to help her because he wants to get into her panties, but she wont let him until he does something for him, only to realize she was really brought up Caldari style and is using him for her own gain, until bigger things happen and they are forced to work together to save them selves/whatever.
I'll have to stop here before I go off writing a movie script or a book... -

I'd rather watch this.
