I launched the game today - the logo appears, but the game fails to launch. I looked at the "log server" and the game does an exception error:
EXCEPTION #1 logged at 04/02/2010 19:28:44 Unhandled exception in <TaskletExt object at df6eed8, abps=1001, ctxt=None>
in blue.dll
I ran the repair tool to verify the install, however it says all the files are just fine. Anyone have any ideas what is going on? It was working the other day :/.

I removed and reinstalled this (via Steam) - no luck same problem. The log server suggests that it can't find a particular module:
ImportError: bootstrap failed on ['script:/environment/effects3/GenericEffect2.py', 'script:/environment/effects3/HullRepair.py', 'script:/environment/effects3/Jettison.py', 'script:/environment/effects3/Jump.py', 'script:/environment/effects3/JumpPort
Ran the repair tool it says (copying and pasting here):
All files are OK, repair not necessary Log file: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\eve online\repairlog.txt
Steam says the app cache is just fine. The system has reported no disk issues, chkdsk (autochk) reports no problems either.
Here's my system specs http://www.xfire.com/profile/angelworks/#game_rig should have no problem running this thing...

I don't know if I had some problem, but I solved it by runing eve online as an administrator.

What do you mean disable sound? Like disable the audio driver?

Edited by: MaxxOmega on 10/04/2010 09:46:52 Almost exact same situation here, except I didn't look at any logs:
1). Couldn't get into game. 2). Rebooted, powered down, etc. 3). Reinstalled EVE. (No I didn't uninstall first). 4). Started looking closer at what might be dolders full of fecal matter. 5). Found Appdata\blah\blah\blah\Portrait Folder. 6). It had 387 portraits in it. 7). I immeditately wondered, "Hmmm, that' a lot of portraits maybe EVE is trying unsuccessfully to load them into memory like the old Windows problem whereWindows would load EVERY font in your font library slowing down crap". 8). Deleted all portraits. 9). Started EVE client and went right into the game. WOO HOO !!! 10). Cancel reinstalling Windows...

This is basicly deleting part of the cache which i have tried many times with no success,i believe that my problem has somthing to do with directx. I have a petition out as well but ccp is taking their time getting a response as usual.

Ok I tried deleting the cache - no effect sadly. So far they've taken a week on my petition :(. At this rate I haven't been able to play in a month - I'll probably just end up canceling my sub.

Ok, i did a little searching and it seems that ATI dosent have any drivers that will support hardware acceleration on windows 7, so im having to find a hacked copy of vista to put back on my pc. This issue dosnt affect Vista users but for anyone using Windows 7 with an ATI graphics card, this is your issue.
