For forever all I have ever used in missions is a Raven or CNR and I'm officially sick of flying them. Is there any other battleships that are good in missions and are worth looking at? I have laser skills and also have amarr BS 5. I used to use a Nightmare but that would require me buying another one
The Rokh? The Apoc? The Geddon?
Ive the skills for a legion and a tengu but are either of these also worth a look?
Id like to focus on mission speed rather than mission comfortability. ... |

Machariel is supposed to be fun. Haven't flown one for years, tho. The BS' I tend to fly are either SNI or CNR. |

....that is all. I can second this, but I offer one exception, don't use one in Caldari space. Lasers vs Guristas is a massive pain and makes even the Nightmare feel weak. Other than that it will tear missions apart.
The rattlesnake as well, for all its reputation as a lazy overtanked afk-boat, has become quite ganky with the new drone mods and ancillary shield boosters. Of course that depends on you having gallente BS and really good drone skills. It also has the advantage of applying its dps really well, at a great range, and in any damage type.
The tengu can fit in where the nightmare leaves off, its bonus to kinetic missiles means that it can rip Guristas to pieces. It will compete with or even surpass the various ravens' damage, while moving at quite a nice speed and feeling a lot less sluggish overall.
If you're going for cheaper options, the dominix is really hard to beat in the price-to-effectiveness category, and several other categories as well. The apoc's a fantastic ship, at least in Amarr space, but I find the armageddon a bit too hard to fit satisfactorily for missions. It's navy version however is an absolute beast if you have great skills and can manage to find a fitting you like. I've never actually done missions in a rokh despite it being one of my absolute favorite hulls, but EFT warrioring makes it look like it's a good choice too, now that you don't have to throw billions of ISK at it to make it work for missions.
...I've really got to get me a mission rokh. |

Those are pretty much the best bang for the buck mission ships (SNI and CNR). Navy Scorp for tank, Navy Raven for spank.
Macharels are amazing mission ships, but you are limited to two damage types and need at least 1.5B to properly fit one. The SNI and CNR can be fit for half that amount. |

I have missioned in the raven, didnt really find it very entertaining, a rail rokh is a great replacement in my opinion, not everyone likes it or can fly it probaly.
This is the fit i use and it hasnt failed me in caldari missions yet:
[Rokh, Lv4 Rokh]
8x 425mm Railgun II (Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge L)
Shield Boost Amplifier II Large Shield Booster II 2x Kinetic Deflection Field II Thermic Dissipation Field II Tracking Computer II (Tracking Speed Script)
Damage Control II 4x Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
3x Large Capacitor Control Circuit I
I usually switch out the tracking computer or shield booster for an AB if i need it in the mission and of course change the resists as well, but other than that i usually use this fit.
The tengu is a good boat as well and seems to be superior over the raven in almost every aspect. |

But as I suspected, very nice ship and handles quite a bit like the apoc. Good tank, good damage, GREAT projection, and it can make great use of both the long and short range weapons, making it a very solid choice for just about any mission. I'll definitely be keeping it around. |

You got bored of the Raven/CNR even if you have skills for a Tengu don't bother it's probably more fun to fly than either of those but it's still a missile boat and you probably get bored of it quick. And the Legion is lacking in comparison to other laser boats for lv4's. So you can mark off any strategic cruiser as an upgrade, plus the CNR is on par with the Tengu but more flexible with who you fly for to my understanding. Welcome to Eve. Everyone here is an Evil Sick Sadistic Bastard who is out to get you. Anyone who tells you otherwise is either trying to scam you or use you. |

Um what? Have you ever actually fired an autocannon?
An AC fit machariel can do any damage type well, except for raw kinetic. Most things that you need kinetic for you can use phased plasma on with similar effectiveness, so it still works out. Only something like a Golem can vary it's damage types better than an AC boat like a Machariel. |

This. Why invent the Wheel if the one we have works just fine? Of course one can run missions in Rokh as well - it just won't be optimal. Personally, I prefer a combo of CNR (heavy dps and insane range) + Tengu (fast, shreds smaller targets). Of course, I'm also a missile freak :p |

I suggest buying a Nightmare. Use it for Sansha and Blood obviously and ofc for Drones and Mercs. With your skill set it is the best complement for your CNR.
Btw I was in exactly the same spot a while ago and let me tell you from personal experience, that on the long run, once youGÇÖve flown turret ships and gotten used to them, you will not fly missile ships very often anymore. In fact I only still do so sometimes, because using different ships and trying to get good runs with them is the only thing that keeps me interested in missions.
As a pointer, here is what I found to be more fun than my old CNR/Tengu: Proteus with neutrons and MWD, Kronos or Vindi with Rails, Rattlesnake for those missions were you can get jammed, Absolution with HPLs, Tach-Nightmare or Pulse-Paladin and not to forget the very nice AC-Mach.

nightmare destroys sanshas and blood raiders. the damage is so stupid, you can fly a buffer tank if you want.

Yeah, me too. I love the CNR's ability to out-range all enemy weapon systems other than cruise missiles. It's not fast, by any means, but there's something special about being able to do missions in your CNR with a 3-slot tank. |

OP, you can use any of the Amarr BS successfully (unless its Angels... then not so easy). All the T3s can do lvl 4s (some better than others... Tengu).
The Rokh is... ok. Good for the farther missions that have enemies spawn off in the distance. |

Not to kickstart a dead thread into life but i'm still at a loss on which ship is a good choice. If you take a Tengu for instance, can it be used multi purpose? Is it worth switching subsystems around or is that better left alone? (im on about doing level 4s, then going and doing some exploration, for example) Red Shift Enterprises is living in Low-Sec. A lot of people usually just end up having multiple differently fit T3's to switch between mission running and exploration but having one and just swapping the subsystems and mods out is perfectly fine. You'll just have to keep in mind though that if you accidently lose the ship and don't have the ISK to replace it you'll be completely boned. |

Then your Nightmare must be pretty badly fitted. Malcanis' Law: Any proposal justified on the basis that "it will benefit new players" is invariably to the greater advantage of older, richer players.
