Edited by: Nova Sand on 05/04/2010 04:51:58 Now i have searched this part of the forums and there seems to be no loan request that is similar to my one. Forgive me but i may have overlooked it as i am not a very good searcher.
WHO AM I?
My in game name is Nova Sand. He is my main. I have made a trial account 2 years ago but stopped playing after the trial expired and started this new account after i finished studying.
For the first 3 months of my eve life, i was pretty much not here just logging in to train skills as my job was pretty hectic. Not much time to play. After that i change job ( currently being a part time tuition teacher ) so my time is more flexible. And hence i play more.
WHAT DO I DO IN EVE? Before i played eve i have already decided i would like to be a missioner. I have never had much love for PVP and hence i think i am the carebear type of player. Similar to any games i play i am mostly PVE. Might venture into PVP but not atm.
Once i was active in eve after my hibernation, i started doing missions eventually getting enough standings for L4 but not enough skills for it. So i could do L3 or either salvage other missioners L4 missions. I decided to salvage since the income per hour outgoes L3 missions by a huge mark. I mainly salvage in Dodixie. And i meet alot of wonderful missioners. After asking their opinions and double checking in the mission forums i have decided that 40m to 50m per hour missioning is indeed possible.
WHAT DO I WANT? Sorry for the long wall of text before stating what i want but i decided that a short introduction was needed before i could tell what i want. Now i want to loan isk to buy a mission speced char or if someone would be selling one they could sell me but give me some time to pay back with interest. I say an interest of 5% would be fair the highest i can go would probably be 7 % but depends on what is the deal. I would prefer if a single investor loan me the money i need to buy a mission spec char. I have scouted the character bazaar and most mission spec chars ( marauders with around 12 to 18m sp ) would cost 3 to 5b. So thats probably my loan amount. If there are no single investors interested i will consider multiple investors.
HOW DO I PAY YOU BACK? Now i mostly work from morning to 6 in the evening. After i bath and have dinner its 6.30 pm. I can come online until 2 am everyday for weekdays . So during this time i mission at least 4 to 5 hours a day on weekdays. The other time is used on going out for a short movie, playing dota and offline games ( Metro2033 atm) or just reading.
During weekends i am practically online all day around 10 hours, so i say at least 7 hours of missioning. So why am i asking for this loan is because with my low spec char i can only do missions that fast making my income around 7 to 9 m per hour. So its like i work 4 times longer to earn what a high spec missioner can earn in an hour ( base of 40m ).
After giving considerable thought over this matter i decided to come forward with my idea of this loan. From my calculations, i based it on the minimum numbers. Lets say i mission 4 hours a day including weekends (its 7 at least but i want to keep it safe). so 7 X 4 = 28 hours a week. 28 X 40 ( 40m per hour ) = 1.12b in a week 4X 1.12 =4.48b in a month. So lets say i get loan of anything from 3b to 5b i will be able to pay back the money + interest from 5 % to 7 % in the most of 2 months. But it can be done in 1 month as this numbers are just minimum figure and i can outgo myself to make it higher.
DO I HAVE NO LIFE? No i just enjoy missions and for those who think that i might be incompetent, with my low skilled char i have done The Blockade, nothing to brag about but still i can do it. World's Collide done with help no solo attempts yet but will try soon. And i just enjoy missioning as its fun to kill NPC without dying.

Edited by: Nova Sand on 05/04/2010 04:52:44 IS THIS A SCAM? I know i cant offer a great business plan like most succesful loans i see around . However considering the riskless missioning in high sec i say this is much more reliable then those business plans success rate in the first place. The only thing that matters now is to trust me or not. I know i am new to eve and have virtually no reputation to speak of but i have never scammed in any online game i played as it is not my way of playing.
Please let me know if you need any more info. An audit would be done if needed however i dun have much assets ( 300m isk atm +a dominix rigged to do L4 + about 100m in salvage and loot + some LP points that i plan to convert to implants ). I can provide my Full API to interested investors to see that i do indeed do missions regularly.
Can reach me by convo in game or posting here. And tell me if i lack anything so i can add into it. If there are any of your friends selling mission spec chars please link them to this thread as most char sellers wont com down here. Many thanks in advance.

No one's responded because it's only been a few hours since you posted the thread. Plus of course it's Easter Sunday and many (sane) people are asleep or still spending time with family or ... something. So anyways. I'm feeling good and I'll be gentle in this thread, unlike others who will log on later.
The biggest issue with your offering is the lack of collateral. This means that, even if you are not scamming, should you burn out or get 'hit by a bus' in real life you have left investors with no way to recoup their investment. Nothing is securing your loan except your word, and (not to be callous) your word isn't worth much. As you have no collateral available to offer, the odds of you getting this loan are low to nonexistent. Sorry, but you can thank the legions of previous scammers for hardening everyone's hearts here.

You need to understand this: there is risk EVERYWHERE in EVE. Highsec mitigates it, but you can still be killed there.

You don't tell where the marauder and fittings are going to come from.
If you convert LP to implants you will have a hard time trying to make 40m ISK/hour on average^^. If you want to make a high ISK/hour you have to hand-pick your faction by LP store and available agents (you want to have multiple decent lvl4 agents in the same station so you can cherry-pick mission offers - if you do all the "Duo of Death"-like missions you won't get 40m/hour) or you dualbox: one account for mission-running and one for looting/salvaging.
It's easy to make 40m ISK/hour in peak hours but a 40m ISK/hour average is probably more difficult than you expect it to be.
You never state whether your interest rate is per month or over the entire duration of the loan - in either case it is almost certainly too low to spark any interest. As a benchmark: 5%/month is the going rate for a 110% collateralized loan.
Also, 3-5b is relatively much for an unsecured first-time offering and I have sserious doubts that a character with 12m SP is able to fly a Marauder efficiently - you probably would have to go for the higher limit.

@Frenden Dex Sorry i forgot the TZ difference i am from Malaysia and its 5 pm here. I dun understand burn out but if something does happen to me, i will make sure i arrange enough plex to be bought from my savings to compensate the investor. And i dun usually use real money to trade ingame currency unless it is needed like in this case.
@Dagny Bronstein Have included the marauder + fittings. Is 40m too high an estimation? If so would it be better to lower the calculations to 30 or 35m per hour? And would 5% to 7 % a month spark any interest?
And yes it might be very hard for me to get this loan but this certainly is one of the most reliable plans as it only needs effort which i am glad to invest in. And yes you are right my word is worth nothing but please consider this deeply as i have spent months thinking about it.

@Silverise I dun need so much for that ship. Maybe 300m would be enough. Would you consider investing if i split the loan into shares? I will wait one or 2 days to see if i can find anyone interested to invest as a single investor before i start breaking it up.
@jotobar No isk received so please dun troll around. If anyone is really interested please mail me or something.

Why do you absolutely need to jump straight into a marauder?
Sure the earnings are better but not by a huge amount. Get in a Raven and learn the missions and the trigger points. Your standings with Federation navy will allow you to pick missions. Find a WC or extravaganza and just farm it for a week that will get you plenty ISK.
If you have done enough missioning or salvaged anough Fleet missions to get 8+ standings you must have close to a Bill ISK. Two weeks farming WC/extraveganza will get what you need for a pimp mission pilot.

@Shar Tegral Have send you the FULL API as requested.
@cosmoray It represents the pinnacle in missioning. I have checked the top 5 list of missioning ships and it comprise of the 3 marauders of each race except gallente (should be due to hybrids) +machariel + nightmare. Now if i would to convince ppl i choose the marauder line as it would serve be better for missioning purposes. And yes the profit is indeed much wider. I am talking about 200 to 300 % increase.
And yes i have 8++ standings with Fed Navy and i pick my missions. And farming WC and AE would indeed be profitable if i can do it faster. That was how i planned to repay my debt by doing missions . And i will continue to do so even after i pay my debt. And no i dun have close to a Billion isk. You can ask Shar to confirm that i never send any huge amount of money away from my account.

Have changed it from looking for single investors into looking for multiple investors. This loan requires the support of all MD forumers to make it a success as well as help a aspiring missioner. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Uncollaterized loan in EVE is pretty much an all or nothing risk factor for the prospective investors. So it's either 100% risk or 0% risk (i.e. not investing), there are some grays in-between but that's the core of it.
A 20% percent return (after 2 months), imo, is frankly too little for such risk. Many of the so called investors out there are also traders and unfortunately, the measuring stick will typically center around how much trading return one can make for the same amount invested for that time period, almost afk with zero risk. When you take into account trade turnover and compouding profits, the number can get large very quickly.
With regard to L4 missioning, even a solo low-skill character should be able to attain the ballpark 10-15mil isk/hr mark. If you are earning well below this, then your basic methodologies need to be improved before even progressing to marauders. And with regard to skills, if you pay attention to the critical skills needed, it doesn't take very long to bump them up to achieve an average 20-30mil isk/hr mark within the said time period.
In other words, you don't really need this loan.
That being said, your approach is valid but it's not something that savvy EVE investors want to touch unless they're willing to bear 100% risk. Pity there aren't any ingame mechanics that can reliably disburse micro-loans that will mitigate a large portion of that risk.

Edited by: Nova Sand on 06/04/2010 04:14:50 Edited by: Nova Sand on 06/04/2010 04:12:35 @SturnWolke Yes i agree that with a bit more skilling probably 2 months (tech2 sentries, tech 2large guns) or so i can get 10m to 15m an hour. But during that time i will still earn the 7 to 9m per hour income.Note that this is the minimum as i always use minimum figures( just bounty not included loot, salvage and LP). And no my methods are the fastest i can go atm. And i think the interest is just nice as its standard as goes around the forums. Any higher would mean i cant pay back in 2 months which spoils my plans. And if you calculate its 500 + 500 for 2 months = 1b. And yes i pity there's no system for secure loan like the secure game time code so that if you scam you get banned. And i wont have to work so hard to get this loan. And yes i really need this loan to earn the 40m to 50m an hour mark, i need a speced char who has at least 16m sp or more which will take me around 9 months or more to reach from my current situation. Trying to maximise my profit is just something natural to do. And all investors bear the 100 % risk in many other investments that are far more risky. I hope ppl will start giving this solid venture a try.

You have to understand that marauders and pirate battleships are basically pimp ship. They do the same amount of work in the same amount of time as a "standard" mission ship (raven, drake, etc) would. Ask yourself, is the cost of marauders worth the extra isk you're going to get compared to standard ship.
Edit: How long is this venture going to be? Because mission loot drop rate is being changed in the upcoming patch, did you take this into account?

The ship will effect the isk rate to a certain extent but the most important factor would be the sp of the pilot(that i am going to buy). This venture will go on for 2 months. And yes i have anticipated the drop in isk per hour from missioning. Check the 30m isk /hour. With that calculation and based my minimum playing time,i could make 6b ++ in 2 months. More then enough to pay back everything i owe.

one of the main reasons marauders and fraction ships tend to do so well in missions is ( as has been pointed out) the fact that they are hugely expensive ships and because of that putting fraction fittings on them is seen as the norm
now you say you wont be splashing out on fraction fittings at first well even a quick play about in eft shows that without fraction fittings a golem isn't a that much better then a normal raven. in terms of raw DPS and in terms of mission runner it might even be slower given the factor of the much shorter range of the torps and the fact you'll have to waste a lot more mods fitting for your tank then a fraction fit one.
so theres no point in spending money on a mission running char to fly a marauder unless you can afford to fit it properly.

There seems to be a certain investor who is interested in funding my marauder and the fittings. I have checked the fittings for most marauders ships with proper faction in battleclinic and i think 2b should be enough. If i can arrange for my marauder and fittings loan to be paid after the 2 months after this loan ends would it help in my cause? I am trying to contact that person atm will post further results here. If i cant get the loan from him or he's not interested anymore i will just close this down since as said theres not much point and nobody will invest in it.

Sorry to be the one to tell you this but this attempt at finding financing has failed. Especially if you can find some "unknown - anonymous" backer to privately match invested funds. You should know that's classic ponzi/pyramid technique and as such people are going to be more likely to avoid your funding request then not. The end problem for your loan request is simply that you want more than your toon is worth. If you decided to abscond, which is a common desire, there is little to stop you other than your good word. No offense but no one knows the value of your good word so it amounts to zero. You could easily get your funding, your uber ship and fit, and then just join the NPC corp. Or, even easier, just walk away. I only hope you don't get angry with me as, truthfully, I'm just a messenger telling you the lay of the land. I could wish to help you but... I see nothing to motivate me to do so. Payout is not really enough, no matter how high, to get me to short circuit my good sense.

I'm afraid this is as good as it gets.
On the upside: with 8 gallente standing you should be able to fund your own Marauder + fit relatively quickly, perhaps within a month. I am doing the same in an only half decently fitted Abaddon and I think I put in the same hours as you do each week. At the moment I am sitting on a Marauder which I already bought + 4 bil isk and 660k unspent LP from maybe 4 months of steady missioning (an average of 4 missions a day I think).
Just start doing lvl 4's in a domi or other tech 1 BS and get to know them well and before you know it you have the isk you need + very useful experience to prevent losing your marauder once you finally fly it :)
