Edited by: Kallieah on 05/04/2010 13:16:48 Oddly enough, I have 514 Dusty Encarta encyclopedias laying about my study. They sort of form a bridge between my computer and my console and I've been slowly reviewing their contents the past few years. There are a lot of interesting articles I'd like to discuss with the capsuleer community.
I'll try not to go Beyond the Frontier too much, but I'm worried about the Threat these pose as a tripping hazard when I have family over during Reunions. Even still, having such knowledge around is just great, making me feel like one of the social Elite!
I recently read about Capitalism and how it impacted Sri Lanka, a Superpower years ago. In fact, I think there was a second Superpower out there, Cambodia that was involved.
But WoW, nothing is more epic than their coverage of entertainment during a Blizzard! I saw another thread about this very issue earlier and I can loan one of my 514 Dusty Encartas to you, the OP of that other thread if you want.
Encarta's coverage of fantasy goes far beyond just articles about the most recently discovered Relic! They cover the Mythic use of WarHammers and what it was like living during the Dark Age of Camelot. There's so much information I feel like I'm Everquesting to read it all! Encarta is an authority on Fantasy and that's Final!
Since I'm a Freelancer in my spare time, writing extensively for a local news outlet, I like the portability of Encarta. I can grab the CD-ROM and do what my spouse calls a "Diner Dash" where we spend the day dashing from one local diner to the next. With a laptop and and Encarta, I can still study on the road and not worry about the Fallout such activities would have on my work.
Anyway, my uncle and longtime friend, Kyle Brennan is something of a modern Privateer. Though he used to be a Wing Commander before leaving the military and he's even borrowed one of my 514 Dusty Encartas. I love how it sparks memories of his days flying an EF2000 that he nicknamed Magic Carpet.
Well, that's all for now, I don't want to tout this thing too much and cause a lot of Anarchy Online! Take care fellow capsuleers and if you have your own stack of 514 Dusty Encarta Encyclopeidas around, share what you like about them here!
Edit: I'm worried that I'm going to get a lot of fanmail about this so please, stay decent and don't become a STALKER!

WoW. This is a great topic.
I love my encyclopedias, they're like a Portal to the outside world. Sometimes I read them for fun, Just Cause, you know? You can learn a lot about the history of Civilization, scientific concepts like Half-Life, and even the minor Anatolian deity Aion!
I don't have 514 like you, but I feel a Call of Duty to assemble such a vast collection of knowledge.

I know just how you feel, Kall!
My mom is a bit of a crazy cat lady, so every now and then when I talk to her over my webcam she'll bring one on screen and I get to say "Hello Kitty" Online. First time it happened I was like "WoW!".
But I really should get back to work now. I'm going to have to go Full Throttle if I want to complete all these assignments! It feels like my boss is having me living a complete Second Life at the office!
