You're looking at the wrong problem. There are currently too many redundant session timers in the game. That's a problem, bubbles in this instance are fine. |

Low sec pod kills test your computer and your connection. If you have a good computer and connection you can buy expesnive implants and be elite. If you don't you can't. Yep it's dumb.
Null sec pod kills...well that should be changed as well. Too many pilots avoid pvp because they can't afford to lose their attribute implants. Make faction war occupancy pvp instead of pve https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=53815&#post53815

I have been podded - I didn't like it I have done some podding - I really enjoyed it.
There is nothing wrong with the bubble, it is there for that purpose.
The pod is the icing on the cake for the kill.
Fly in a group (your corp) and you will be safer. |

Wrong ;) so very wrong. but it's one of the few methods. That's the deal: to not be able to kill pods but in very specific conditions. |

Just Another Toon wrote:Thanks for your replies chaps, and yes I know this is the mechanics of 0.0, the question is 'is it fair and correct' to have this mechanic.
In other words - do you think its right to have this. If so, then please explain why?
Losing a ship, well yeah it sucks but if someones got a dictor where you are then your unlucky. However you are guaranteed to lose your pod, with no chance to escape - you think thats an ok mechanic to have?
Also why when you get killed you get a 30 second docking timer on your pod? Please someone explain WHY this is a justified mechanic? Thats all I am asking? Why do you get a 30 second docking timer? Again guaranteed to lose your POD.
If someone can explain the rational around these mechanics then ill STFU.
Personally I believe bubbles should be just for locking down supers and caps, not for general use. They are an i win button, mobile warp bubbles as well, I mean seriously afk warp scramming? Also drag bubbles? I mean drop a bubble 90km from a gate and then catch all? You cant even directional scan them down if they are at the out gate. This is my personal view on bubbles, if you want to trap people then use scrams and disrupters, why should 0.0 be any diiferent to the rest of eve?
but even if you bubbles don't go, then seriously pods should not be caught in bubbles, and definately not have a docking timer - i don't see the sense in why thats implemented at all..
First let me answer why you get a 30 second session change timer: For the game (or the server), you 'changing' from your ship to your POD is a ship change, hence there is a session timer. It doesn't matter why you changed ship (in this case because your ship isn't there anymore and just the POD is left), but this is the reason - at least in my understanding. It's purely a mechanical reason - I know. Not an actual explanation for why it's necessary or even a justification. And yes I agree with you on this point: the mechanic that getting you ship destroyed causes a session timer is not a good one, and in my opinion the only instance where the session timer is a bad idea.
For the other point(s), I agree with most other posters: Bubbles are just fine in that instance, they do what they are supposed to do: stop stuff from warping. Bubbles should not just lock down (super)caps, but every ship (except the specific T3s mentioned). They are pretty much a necessity for 0.0. |

If you feel miserable after losing a ship and pod, you can blaim only yourself, you have made choices which led you to current situation.
Do not use kick out stations. Do not warp to bubble.
