Ok Im really new to Eve, but it sounds like it has the best PvP around. I understand it takes a long time to build a character that is really ready to go for PvP and I am looking to cut down that time as much as possible.
So here is the shell of my plan and I am hoping you guys can help me fill in the details.
In my Attributes window it says I have a neural remap available now, and then it says bonus remaps available 2. It is kind of ambiguous how it is stated and confused as to whether the remap available now is counted as one of those 2 bonus remaps or if it is an extra one.
Anyway my plan is to use those remaps to level my skills efficiently to be able to pilot and use warships, with salvaging and possibly exploration as well.
So my first question is does that mean I have 2 total remaps or 3 total remaps?
What should I remap my Attributes out for first, and what skills should I level up with that first remap setup?
Then at what point should I remap again and what skills should I level at that point?
I guess maybe I am asking a lot for an outline of what skills to do and what order to do them, so if there is some link or something where someone has mapped out the best way to get going for PvP that would work too, and maybe I can figure out where to switch the remaps around by looking at that. I have tried to search for information on the specifics of skills needed but only found pretty generalized information.

First: DO NOT USE REMAP YET.
You have 3 remaps total. First one is yearly one, when you use that, it starts countdown and after 1 year you get new one. Two others are bonus remaps which you can use while you don't have yearly remap available (i.e. that countdown is going). Usually you don't get new bonus remaps, so think carefully when you want to use them. (Sometimes CCP can give extra bonus remaps as gifts, e.g. at last christmas.)
You don't need that much skills to start trying PvP, and since it requires a lot of player skills also it would be best to start early. Also in the beginning you will be training skills from a lot of categories, so wasting a remap so early is probably not good idea.
Remember that any remap you make will make some skills train faster and other skills train slower, so until you have long plan which only needs few attributes, DO NOT waste a remap. For initial training the default remap is good enough.

Also if you start now (low Skillpoints) you clones you have to update once podded aren't that expensive. And a 2 week old character can do basic frigate PvP.
People who say you need xxx amount of SP or xxx amounts of ISK to be able to PvP are wrong. Inject your skillbook before you leave the station. You are ready for PVP after two days. Just do the tutorials, jump into some frig and pew away. You'll lose a lot of ships at first anyways, you might as well get that out of the way while your ships only cost a few pennies. A lot of people fall into that trap where they just do nothing and wait for skill training to complete. Don't be one of them. It's The Legendary Extraordinary Me |

Thats what I usually do. I have a Pilgrim and a HPL Harb and considering fitting out another Devoter, but during downtime I love just fitting out a cheap AF or something throw-away that I can have fun in and not blow the bank.
You dont need 600 million SP or 2 billion ISK to have fun in PVP. |

I disagree.
Go ahead and remap. Split your points evenly between Intelligence and Perception for now. That will cut significant time off of almost all the skills you need as a starting combat character, the only exception is drones, and the only thing you really _need_ to put a lot of points in there is Drones V, not a big multiplier skill so no big deal.
Put more work into it later and use a bonus remap in 3-6 months to work on a specialized skill plan.
(And yes, start PvP by grabbing a load of cheap fits and modules and getting blown up a bunch. There's a large element of "practice makes perfect" going on in PvP, so waiting until you have a T2 ship or even a T2 fit is just going to be really damned expensive as you'll be losing 50 times 50 million isk instead of 50 times 200k isk in the "getting used to it" period.) |
