Why is everyone suiciding hulks lately? It can't be fun, unless you really suck at pvp, I must be missing the reason?

Hulkagedon mentality still in effect?
Hulks tend to be used by "macro miners" which are heavily frowned upon, and people like venting frustration by killing such ships?
Pirates like the taste of Carebear tears, no matter how they are generated?
Vets like to constantly remind carebears that hi-sec isn't safe, and hulks make easier targets than say mission running battleships?
There's a lot of reasons, so you sort of just have to accept it.

Either for the tears, the local smacktalk, or the satisfaction of depriving a macro miner of his 200M isk, uninsurable ship.
We did it the other day with a mixed fleet (9) of T1 cruisers and destroyers. Fit for absolute maximum gank and lace into them. And CONCORD was already in the belt for some cosmic reason too...

I only kill em in 0.0 or wormholes, I really dont know why anyone would suicide them in highsec. Except maybe there macros. I scanned a rorqual passing through a wormhole a couple days ago. These suicide fleets would be more useful in WH POS bashing or ganking miners

Actually, anyone doing it for one of those reasons has been successfully manipulated by players from the MD forum. The whole thing goes back to ISK. Follow the ISK and you will usually find your reason.

Hulks are easy targets because they typically have a weak tank, are afk and stationary for extended periods of time. The loot they drop is mediocre but if using 3x t1 fitted cruisers or less to gank them, it's marginally profitable. My experience ganking hulks is largely limited to a side activity. If my low sec patch is completely devoid of targets for hours on end, I start looking around high sec for viable targets.
In high sec, I've suicide ganked many hulks but I will go after anything that will give a profit. Ideally it should also bring as much pain to a high sec player as possible too. The carebears must be reminded high sec is safer, not safe. As such I've also suicided cov ops frigs, interceptors, haulers and probably some other random stuff at various times. All of these ships were stationary and apparently afk.

Yes please, gank as many hulks as possible. (except mine)
In the end it will mean less ore so more profit for my mined ores and more profit for my friend who builds said hulks.

I have to say, I can sort of see the appeal.
I don't fly a hulk, but I do do a little light mining now and then, and hulks are annoying, because packs of them strip entire systems of minerals, which makes "light mining" an exercise in frustration rather than a pleasant background activity, something to do while I watch TV with my housemates that helps me feel all self-sufficient in EVE when I can use those minerals to keep myself supplied with ammo and other basic necessities of EVE life.
I've never ganked a hulk and I don't think I would be able to if I tried, but I can definitely see the appeal.

It's not hatred to Huk in particular.
I's just a fact that hulk is 200mil T2 ship with a toilet tissue class armor and virtually no defences.
So it's an easy killamil and maximum lulz with minimal effort to 99.9% of Yarr bears/and or assorted gankers.
