Market is about supply and demand in the common term, but beyond that, supply relies on resources and demand on consumption. In EVE resources are minerals from asteroids which respawn and therefore unlimited. But where is the consumption? If you take care of your ship and equipment youÆll never need to buy new so only more new players will raise the price on the market. In that way itÆs good that the pirates shoots as many ships as possible otherwise the market would stagnate. I donÆt want to see ships needing fuel to fly æcause it would suck being stuck in the middle of nowhere, but not why not make it so characters needs food and water everyday? Or making ship repairs demanding raw materials. Do you get my drift? Stations could have a supply of these, which they try to keep by NPC convoys and the demand price at the station. This opens a possibility to let players take jobs escorting convoys into deep space. Also makes mining outside empire space a bit trickier. If a person isnÆt fed it could effect heÆs training time. If more focus where put in consuming in EVE we might have a better market. ---------------- What's a rumor on page one is a fact on page two |

Q: But where is the consumption?
A: Ammo, attrition, upgrades, recycling.
Quite a few things are lossy... there are a lot of asteroids, but the amount of mineral in the universe is capped by the number of players. Once large quantities start getting sucked up by Battleship and Station production, minerals and ores will likely increase in value.
OTOH, it might be worth allowing repairs in-station to consume minerals rather than just ISK. *shrug* ------------=o0O+O0o=------------ Peg Wench
