The short version is...
Do missions for an NPC corp to gain standing. The higher your standing the better r/d agents you get access to.
Train in r/d skill so you can use 5 agents at a time.
Train in the skill of the datacores you want. Hydromagnetic Physics sell for the most if I remember correctly.
Once you have the skills and the standings you simply visit the r/d agents, tell them to research for you and then occassionally stop by and trade your research points in for datacores. I think with 5 agents and max skills you can sell the cores for 150mill a month if you go with hydro physics.

Do yourself a big favor, and figure out which R&D agents you want before grinding standings. Not all corporations have R&D agents, and not all corporations that have R&D agents have good ones.

Edited by: Rashmika Clavain on 09/04/2010 10:49:19 Meh I'm shooting myself in the foot here but...
If you've got high Gallente Faction standing (over 7/8) then you'll quite probably have high Minnie standing (derived).
So, if you wanted to do research with Duvolle and Core Complexion, this means you only need to grind the required effective Corp standing. An example... one level 4 R&D agent required something like 6.65 effective personal, corp or faction standing in addition to 4.65 corp standing.
In other words, having high faction standing won't allow access to a R&D agent. You need to have the Corp standing too. However if you've got high faction stadning, then you only need the easy grind to 4.65 corp standing (for example).
It's worth training Connections and Negotiation to level 4 too.
Other tips... as stated above, train Research Project Management to level 4 and get five agents on the go. Do some reserach into what datacores are selling well; aim to farm those datacores from a corp with which you have high faction standing (as it makes the standings grind much easier).
Ninja Edit: Train the research area science area skills to at least 4 too. You only need them on level 1 to start research, but getting them to level 4 makes a big difference.
