Basically, I'm trying to get my contracting skills up to get into contract trading. The problem is, I'm limited at 21 contracts with Contracting V. If I run my own corp, I can get corporation contracts set up, but would need an office. The problem is, they're not too cheap in trading hubs, and the alternative would be to move a few jumps away, but that would limit the people interested in filling my contracts.
So, to exceed 21 with corp contracts, my only options are to pay the high office fee in a trading hub, or pay less fees in a less active system, but deal with less volume?

Long answer short: Don't contract trade.
Longer answer: You will have to deal with lower volume orders and as a consequence either: 1. Deal with less items 2. Deal in packaged contracts that deal with multiple items.
I'm sure you can work out the pros and cons of these, but contract trading, atleast in my humble opinion, is inferior to 'regular' trading.

Edited by: Commander Godsmack on 09/04/2010 07:21:27 A friend of mine set up office in a hub which is about 100 mill / month - which I have heard is apparently high. If u can work up the capital to invest in around 500 contract items at a time the 100/month is chump change; as many things on contracts can be flipped for close to that profit or at least with just a few units. And often (though not always) u can be flipping stuff like that with less than 12 hour turnover.
Edit: In my humble opinion I think u may be doing it wrong Deus Mallius

i think you are mixing things..., forgetting jita, trade hubs are solar systems and not particulary stations.
if you want to +500 contracts, just go for a cheap station in the system you want. you will see that is not a brake to your transactions. carmo

But it sort of follows the same as order trading, people are less inclined to move out a few jumps to fill your contract.
And I didn't really look into the deliveries hangar, but now I will.

You won't get a straight answer to this question but you've got enough info to figure it out now. They're going to make you work for it as it will just be more compitition when/if you do. -gl

The work around for it isn't too bad but may require more than one character in your corp depending on how you do things but it works very nicely with no need to rent an office in places like jita.

Player corperation has 2 charicters, they both reside on the same account or could be on seperate accounts. both work.
Charicter A (AKA Main) has odles of valuable items to sell via contract. The corperation does not have an office in Jita. Player A seperates or bundles the items in the fassion that they wish to sell them. Sets up a personal Contact to Charicter B (AKA Alt) with all the items in it. Charicter B Accepts the personal contact on behalf of the Corperations. And Vowala you have delivered all items to the delivery hanger of the trade hub. Charicter A can proceeed to contract off the items as they sit in the hanger on behalf the corp.
Problem solved =)

I run around 50 contracts at any given time with my contract trader with room for 20 more if I like. No extra alts, no office. Granted this is for straight contract trading, nothing fancy.

Silly me, and all this time I've been creating private contracts to myself then accepting them for corporation. I never realized the simplicity of switching characters on the same account or paying for a second account.

Edited by: Juelz Carlos on 10/04/2010 09:01:55 Hah, I actually figured this out before Dia posted that brief writeup. Regardless, thanks for the responses, looking forward to office fee free, 70 contract trading
EDIT: Also, thanks to Breaker for the sarcasm and realization that I can do this on one character.

Edited by: Sesshu on 10/04/2010 10:18:56 an office is not needed of any sort just use youre deliveries tab, when setting up a contract do it on behalf of youre corperation, if youre setting up a buy order once it gets accepted it will be in youre deliveries hanger of where you set the contract up,
With max skills you able to create 21 contract for youreself and about 68 (around there i forget) on behalf of youre corp so all together youre looking at 89 public contracts, after that just create another character
