It appears we are requested to attend another testing with again no rewards for our time. I refuse to bother turning up either of my accounts now. I pay them to play, they don't pay me to test.

This.
I am a busy man. I work in IT and part of my job is QA and testing.
I do enough of this during the day for my employers that I want to come home and play a game to relax, not run around doing yet more QA except this time unpaid.
At least register that someone has spend x number of hours on SIS doing CCP's unpaid QA and reimburse them with one week's extra play time, otherwise there is little incentive for someone to willingly give up their play time to do this.

CCP should charge $100 a month, then they will be able to hire 500 new devs to bugtest large fleet fights in SiSi, once its fixed they can fire them all, and charge us 15 again.

Confirming that charging $100 pm would fix the lag

We all love eve, but not everyone is willing to download and install a second copy of it, just to spend 30 minutes in the test server.
Also, even though this is 2010, theres a lot of ISP's who still cap your bandwidth and transfer ammounts. Or, people like me who's harddrives are full of movies and tvshows, i have barely any room to download the latest Colbert Report, let alone install another copy of eve.

Ouch! 100 per month that would be pretty steep. Fix the lag aright the only people that would keep subscribing would be that guy who has 14 accounts and Chirbba.

The way CCP works I doubt hiring more Devs would work...
CCP's Dev's would solve the problem however as always they will pull the update from the patch and because fleet flights will now working they would believe it would affect the balance of the game therefore they would pull the update and say we need further testing for balance issues and thus we would never have our lag fixed.
If CCP increased the cost of monthly subscription to increase the amount of Dev's to solve the problems WE ALL KNOW WHICH WERE CAUSED BY DOMINION then I would simply quit and not come back, I might of invested some time into this game but I'm not willing to invest more money purely due to someone incompetence.
The 1st full paragraph was jokey however I wouldn't put it past them if it happened.
End of the day I have said it before and I will say it again, We pay to play, not to work for them.

We've made similar progress as CCP... None.
Looking at the test results ( I have even attended all but one of the tests since Dominion ) and the results were shocking, I could load grid reasonably fast but wasn't able to do anything on each occassion. FPS turned out to be Frames Per Minute instead.

Edited by: TheLordofAllandNothing on 14/04/2010 11:16:29 Nice to see ccps efforts are focused:
What did not one ****ing person complain about: Deep safes What is everyone complaining about: Massive unbearable ****ing lag.
What are they fixing: Deep safes

Also nice to see that you are putting walls into your game ccp, and are probably going to nuke a lot of supercapitals and faction bs, i couldn't of thought of a better(more terrible) implementation than that, instead of fixing the lag.

Well, look at it this way, if CCP fixed the lag and some of the most pertinent problems the populace would have no reason to compare CCP's actions with Sony's. I am really worried Incarna is going to turn out like Sony's clever tinkering with SWG and kill EVE. I've been playing this game for years and the more time goes on the further out of touch CCP seem to be becoming with the playerbase.

... which might be the reason why the interest in these constant SiSi tests is less then stellar.
I personally stopped playing EVE between january and the end of march simply because I didn't feel like getting an ulcer from all the lag and laughable 15 minute grid loads. And if I'm not willing to play this game on the live server then you can imagine how motivated I was about the test server.
This is especially pronounced because the lag situation was pretty much "fixed" during Appocrypha (after 4 years of unplayable lag) and only got bad again after the role-out of Dominion. And I'm simply not willing to suffer through another 4 years of CCPs ineptitude and/or unwillingness to face up to the fact that Dominion totally destroyed the only end-game content this game has to offer.
I'll either quit sooner or later (I can only deal with that many botched fleet fights before I'll puke and rage quit) or CCP will fix it. If I have time some Sunday to logon to SiSi then I'll do that but I'm not making any special excuses for CCP anymore and am also not willing to go out of my way to help them solve their god damn technical problems.... AGAIN!
That's my take on the situation.
tl;dr - fix lag in Dominion or roll back to Appocrypha. Either that or you'll sooner or later lose me as a customer (and with all the rubbish CCP has been doing the past few months I think it'll probably be sooner rather then later). Less marketing blather, more fix the ****ing lag.
Edit:

Also ^ this.
Perhaps you could completely ignore the lag (just claim it's our ISPs fault or perhaps boot.ini) and start fixing something that everyone is disturbed by..? Like not having walls in space...? |

Although the op's conspiracy theory is nice I have the inside scoop!
Apparently the hamsters powering CCP's tranquility servers are on strike and they pick their moment carefully by keeping an eye on the big fights.
