So I am told this is how you access the higher level mission agents. Do missions for the corp and the standing goes up. But Ive done a few missions where the standing remained the same. And there doesnt seem to be any indicator for how much the mission will increase your standing. Only shows LP you will receive.
Driving me kinda nuts as I can only do lvl 1 security missions, and my standing with one corp is 2.58 Say what you want about forums and trolls, EVE forums have been good to me |

Are you sure you are looking at a corp and not a faction? Faction standings only increase via storyline missions (and a few other things like tutorial chains) while corp standings are earned for every mission.
2.58 is enough for level 2 missions so I'm guessing you are looking at the wrong number somewhere.
On the other hand, if your faction standings are below -2 than you only have access to level 1 missions. |

That is a possibility. But I was fairly sure it was for the Gallente Federation that had it that high. I will check again when I get home Say what you want about forums and trolls, EVE forums have been good to me |

When you check your standings in character sheet, you can right click them and see history of last changes. This shows how much you've got from missions.
Also if you still don't have access to level 2 agents, you can train few levels in "Connections" skill to get instant access. That will give instant standing boost to any positive standings, and since level 2 agents only requires 1.0 standing, Connections III will be enough. Maybe even less if you already have some standing.

Gallente Federation is a faction, not a corp. They have no mission agents. |

With that standing to Gallente Federation you are able to run ALL level 2 agents that are part of NPC corps in the Gallente Federation.
You likely aren't in a station with Lvl 2 agents, move to other stations or use the in game agent finder to locate where they live. Inject your skillbook before you leave the station. There are also other skills in the Social tree you can learn up on that will help you gain standings and LP faster (as well as ISK rewards). They are:
SECURITY MISSIONS SKILLSET:
Social
Connections ^--- Needs Social III
Negotiation ^--- Needs Social I
Security Connections ^--- Needs Social III, Leadership III
DISTRIBUTION MISSIONS SKILLSET:
Social
Connections ^--- Needs Social III
Negotiation ^--- Needs Social I
Distribution Connections ^--- Needs Social III, Trade III
MINING MISSIONS SKILLSET:
Social
Connections ^--- Needs Social III
Negotiation ^--- Needs Social I
Mining Connections ^--- Needs Social III, Industry III
In addition, if you're taking missions from criminal organizations (those with low Concord standing), train up the Criminal Connections skill for a 4% modifier per level to effective standing to Criminal NPCs.
All of these skills should be at lvl 3 at least, though 4 is better. Training to lvl 5 can take upwards of a week and a half per skill (except Social, which will take about 5 days at most). This is depending on attribute point distribution, which, if you're a combat toon, means you almost certainly do not have a high investment in Charisma, which is the primary attribute for skills in the Social tree. Level 5 skills generally give you nice improvements, but not good enough reason to invest that much training time which could be spent in more worthwhile (read: combat oriented) pursuits. Lvl 4 skills in the Social tree are sufficient for your missioning needs. Though, if you want, you might want to train Social itself to level 5, as that tends to be the heavy hitting skill. 5% bonus per level to NPC agent, corporation and faction standing increase.
Hopefully that helps some!

Thanks for the input peeps. So I did more looking into it yesterday. I am of good enough standing with Gallente fed to do their lvl 2 missions which are mostly distribution, not my bag. So I found another corp in the federation that I had a standing of 0.44 with. Ok, so I do 3 missions in a row for their agents knowing it would increase the standing.
I check again...
0.43....ANGRY TROLL FACE!!!
So, I put this on hold to run missions with a friend who can do lvl 2 and 3s. Say what you want about forums and trolls, EVE forums have been good to me |
