ok i've had a look around and am unable to find the answer to these questions so i hope the boffins in here can help
1) does ice mining help get the industry index up or is it just roids?
2) what do we get for a level 5 belt?
3) how hard is it to keep level 5? we have around 14-20 hulks mining but not all at once
thanks in advance for any info you can give on the subjects

There are runours at level 5 you get an ancient ice belt which gives all races of ice, cant find anything on the internet though. Im sure the larger Alliances must have hit it and will know.. so come on Gooners, what do u get?

Edited by: John Adamantis on 14/04/2010 12:34:49 As Far as I can see after extensive searching on every site Google can provide, NO ONE has every stepped foot into a grav site at level 5.
We constantly field 20-30 hulks mining all day long the highest we have managed is level 4 67% to Level 5.
at the moment we are keeping it around 35% to 40% to level 5. WE NEED MORE DEDICATED MINERS ME FINKS.
WE hold a 12hr long ice mining operation as a Alliance once a week and it doesn't effect the percentage.
Mining the normal belts I feel will not have an effect either, no solid evidence though.
As I believe no one has got to level 5 yet the answer to what's in them is a mystery. but at a guess it going to be a Gigantic Asteroid belt!!! containing bigger roids than the Extra large site.
To get to level 5 I believe you will need no less than 25 hulks with maxed mining buffs mining there arse's off for 24hrs solid. then doing the exact thing the next day until 100%.
The problem we have is when we sleep we don't have any peeps taking over, and when we return the next day we have to do allot of the work all again.
The Ancient ice belt I'm beginning to think is just a vicious rumor thought up by some bloke dreaming of how good it would be to have a ice belt with all four flavors of isotopes waiting to be mined!!!!!!
WE WILL GET THERE......I HOPE :( |

How can you see the % of the current index level you are at? |

Well thats an easy question
If you are a member of the corparation that has anchored the I HUB, all you need to do is warp up to it, left click on the bad boy hover your curser over the progress bar leading to your next level and hey presto the percentage is shown.
If the system has down graded in that particular day it will also show a Red pointy Down arrow next to it.
If you have made some progress and raise the percentage it will show a little pointy up Green arrow.

Thank you! Is it also possible if yer just an alliance member, and not a corpy? And how do you find out where the ihub is, is it close to the TCU?

Nope, very sorry you MUST be a member of the corp that anchored the I Hub.
you will find the I Hub anchored at a planet somewhere in the system where the Grav sites are.

We achieved the first lvl5 industry system relatively quickly after the patch. There's nothing special about the belts. It's probably okay to release the report I wrote about it, since Providence was burned to the ground and it's no longer classified. All of this was mined under the Sev3rence Alliance:

Any update on what the hidden 5th belt is called or what it consisted of? The pinnacle of the mining profession must be (or have been) to sit in your industry level 5 system in this 5th hidden belt doing what miners do best.
Yet i'm still waiting for a report from one individual in this thread and the other seems to have "forgotten" what the 5th belt was?!?

The level 5 grav site I bloody huge!!!!
Nothing special extra!! 80K Ark roids 70k Bisot roids etc etc!!
It is called the GIANT Grav site and once you first spawn the bastard it is relatively easy to keep it active.
you strip all 5 grav sites of the ABC's and the merx then simply concentrate on the Giant site. there is around 4 bill isk wise in ABC's allown for every 3 days if you mine it correctly more if you obviously mine lets say the Large site complete out every day. A well run mining corp collectively if done correctly could earn up to 15 bill a week. but yea that's Dedicational mining.
