The definition of a space-owning alliance is pretty simple: it's an alliance that owns space.
If your alliance owns space, it's a space-owning alliance.

No, I'm saying that you own space because you've made a claim of ownership on some space and the claim has subsequently been accepted.

Quite wrong. We have made no claim of ownership on any space, only on core infrastructure.
By the way, I know what your next semantic move will be: you're going to play word games with the TCU. I have to tell you we don't care what CONCORD happen to call a particular item of infrastructure. We use it for the sole purpose of being able to place and administer core infrastructure. That is its purpose for us. We don't extend a claim to the space of the system.
And we won't be forced into extending a claim by anyone, least of all you.

A little tip for you, Blake, in case you're labouring under the same misapprehension as Archbishop that when a word has four clearly numbered definitions it always partakes of each and every definition simultaneously: it doesn't.
The Star Fraction uses definition number 3. We are independent and we govern ourselves, our ships and our infrastructure.
That is all we claim sovereignty over.
Thank you for pointing out that the word 'sovereignty' has a recognised definition that we have indeed held to for a very, very long time.
I'm not sure you intended that but I thank you all the same.

Definition 3 dies indeed apply to SF.
But definition 4 applies to the territory that you've claimed.
