I was considering buying some video goggles, ether i-glasses or vuzix (These are glasses that have little screens in them, basicly presenting you with an 80 foot display I am going to combine this with FreeTrack, a opensource head tracking software
And i was wondering if its possibly to use nvidia's 3d vision in conjunction with these video glasses? I do not want to invest in 3d-capable monitor, specificly because i dont want to have to stare in one direction, (im trying to get vr here!)
Does anyone have any experience with nvidia's 3d vision, eveonline, and video glasses?

No, 3dvision etc of nvidias is very old and pretty crap tech, it requires active glasses. I guess if your displays were passive 3d (iz3d etc) and you could find the correctly polarized contacts... that could work, but in reality I doubt either things exist at the moment.

I am currently using nvidia's 3d vision and have tried it with EVE Online.
AFAIK, the 3d vision drivers are only compatible with their own shuttering glasses and the old red/blue anaglyphic glasses. If you want to use someone else's hardware, you will need to use their drivers. ----------

Well, the reason i mention nvidia's 3d vision is that it is the only thing capable of rendering the same scene from 2 different angles (for each eye). The display drivers wouldnt be able to control this, i dont think.
Are there any glasses out there specificly designed for 3d gaming like this, that is just generaly compatable with all games in the same way nvidia's 3d vision is?

It's either IZ3D or 3D Vision. However keep in mind EVE does not work well with 3D. Many lighting effects project incorrectly and the UI is a 2D surface and hence sits too far infront of you.

…also, if it's actually done right, 3D would look fairly boring in EVE. The distances involved would mean that you'd have very little parallax, even on-grid. Space, when observed through the very closely-spaced human eyes, is spectacularly flat. ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

1. Headtracking via an interface like FreeTrack is no longer possible due to the removal of TrackIR support from the game (which FreeTrack hooked into). 2. 3D Glasses tend to work poorly with EVE due to the, as previously mentioned, non-3D effects; however, a polarizing, non-interlacing based effect should give you the best results if you're insistent on trying this out, as it'll be easiest for you to focus on the non-3D elements overlaying things. 3. You don't want to use the Vuzix or similar stereoscopic VR headsets for this, as their resolutions are inherently terrible due to how many pixels need to be packed into their tiny LCDs, for the price. They work great for many other games, notably racing ones (especially with head tracking) and FPS games though.
Hope these helped, and if you do end up getting a Vuzix and want to turf it afterwards, I'd happily take it off your hands (for free) ---
