Thinking about getting into 5's
Ive read sevral threads on ship setups and numbers, i know i need to capless tank and and a rep ship with my skills so i came up with a drake setup that runs capless with 770-950 tank depending on faction, and i will have a rep ship perma running 3 best named large shield transporters
anyone have an opinion if this set up is going to get absolutely melted or am i in the ballpark of where i need to be. The tanking ship has mediocre shield skills and thats about all im going to be able to squeeze out of him
tank drake set up 4 shield power relay
2 lrg shield extenders 4missions specific passive ressistanc emods
3 mediumd core d field purger IIs
all tech2
ps. this is posted on a phone so excuse the garbage grammar and layout

I was gonna write "it's gonna melt" until I noticed the 3 large shield reppers on him. With the reppers you should do just fine. just remember the short range of em and orbit the repping ship.
If it's some kindof domi it might even be the best dual t1 setup I can think of, if it's not you'll probably be in pain how slow it goes but yea that part you'll figure out yourself after testing it.

The Rep ship will be a Drake as well. And will probably run a 4 best named for the first couple missions (cap stable but just barely) but I will have one - two other ships in for dps. Most likely an baddon and a low so friend that I'm recruiting. :) fives would be a fun way of breaking him in eh?

I use on my drake 3 LSE || and three specific active hardeners, but I have on raping ship one large energy transfer, it is ok with 2 energy neut draining my cap

Ok, so you must be an alt from another thread with exact same "passive tanked drake and a shield rep Domi". As I've replied there...you don't need passive recharge on the Drake, just buffer. So stuff BCSes into lows on it and fit extender rigs. Your 700-900 localrep will do jack against incoming damage if you lose remote shield rep.

posting mainly because of our names but i run level 5s for a while, in a passive deadspace fitted rattlesnake. It took so long to kill everything that i lost my will to live and went back to doing level 4s.
using 5 drones even with all level 5 skills is very slow going ( i even did them with an alt in a dominix with another 5 drones and it was still very slow)

Solution: Run a proper 2+ man team. Soloing lvl5s is great for inflating one's ego (unless you do it in a carrier) but otherwise not financially beneficial compared to gank marauder setup. Get yourself an alt in a ship (Drake/Harby/logi/Arb/etc) that can rep your shields, fit a gank ship with buffer, and go all out. Yes, your Rattler CAN solo, but it's slower than using NH+logi/Tengu + logi/Mach + logi. So why go through the pains? Your logistics ship can salvage while you're busy killing...

Exactly. Proper 2ship team could dish out about 1700 dps (without drones=a lot faster) and is able to tank almost everything, not mentioning remote rep in case of waves targeting second ship. Just work with EFT
