I see you have been very busy working on tyrannis, all these new gameplay bells & whistles. I also see you have been busy collecting subscriptions too, as you do.
Does this mean I can interact with planets whilst I wait for my unresponsive ship to re-sync with server during large fleet fights?
If so, Thank you CCP. I always wanted to make isk for new skips whilst waiting for grids / server syncs to complete.

Such a sad story. I did not know that these people have skills in combat ships. They usually fight with mining barges!!!

Well, if ccp can't fix the lag, the least they can do is give us something to do while waiting for grid loads.

Originally by: CCP Tyrannis harnesses the visual cue capability of AlienFX-compatible DELL machines and keyboards. The multi-colored perimeter lighting will now pulse and change when triggered by critical game events including: - Low capacitor - Warp scrambling - Autopilot waypoints and destination - Cargo full - Cap recharge levels when in jump-capable ships - When lag occurs, will blink rapidly in a rainbow light show, and stop when the lag is over
I feel sorry for you guys with wireless keyboards. Better make sure you have plenty of batteries.

Stop being a tool and actually read the forums and the new features pages more properly.

You'll see that in the right hand side CCP are working on it. Also if you've read any posts by CCP regarding the whole lag issue one of the factors is that the overview refreshes too often.
Also this topic has no place in CAOD and you can expect it to be closed.

Yes that's really great.
But we don't want them to work long and hard on this. What we really want is a solution.

Isn't ccp tannis doing some sort of lag test today? maybe you should go participate and get friends to go with you and help test out the lag. Granted it is pi lag, but still they are going for 500+ people in 1 system at 1 planet.

Imagine two different completely hypothetical situation:
1: CCP makes everyone work 80 hours per week and after 12 weeks all current issues around grid loading and large fleets are resolved.
2. CCP applies some crazy technique that allows everyone to work 10% less hours, work when they want, where they want, people may show up without pants and can order as many pizza and coke as they like and after 6 weeks all current issues around grid loading and large fleets are resolved.
I would prefer the 2nd because that provides a solution faster. I would not care that they did not work more and harder.
My point is: the work itself changes nothing for the situation, only the solution does. That does not mean the work is not appreciated, it only means that the outcome is more important.

You are of course welcome to skip reading all the parts you don't feel comfortable with. However I was talking about working less not stopping to work.
I know it's not Dilbert but maybe you like to read those as well...

who else finds it funny that ccp is trying to do lag tests on the server during a weekend while there is a war involving the whole 0.0 map? Why not just put a few GM's in the north, its only a matter of time before a lag fight insues and then they can watch it first hand instead of spending weeks trying to copy it on a server that no one is going to log into while their alliance is involved in a sov war

Think maybe it's because they think they already found the problem, but want people to test their solution, which they've already written into the code on Sisi, before it goes live on TQ?

Boy you dont read ccp posts much do you, when a big fleet fight is scheduled or is mentioned via the 24 thing. ccp sends their cloaky gm's and what devs they can to sit cloaked in the system and take statistics and record logs in attempt to find the problem. Now if you took the time to read posts by ccp tanis, you would see they have found different parts of the problem and are trying to run code on sisi to try it to make sure it works. Finally, 1 hour out of your time is not that long, and its done on the weekends because thats when the player base is the highest.

There has been several CCP dev sightings in the North in the past few days. They tend to get flamed rather fast though ;)

Edited by: Hecatonis on 18/04/2010 03:03:47 threads like this are fun.
please answer the following true/false questions
1) fixing lag is really easy, they are just not doing it 2) CCP likes to **** off their player base that gives them money 3) running tests with bots will produce the same results as running it with people 4) you should always upload code on live servers without testing it first because it always works under full stress. 5) i know how to fix the lag because i can program the largest (cite needed) single shard universe mmorpg ever made 6) CCP has a "fix lag" button just just cant find it. 7) CCP should put everyone including the artist, writers, customer support, and janitorial staff to work on fixing lag, because even they know how to fix it.
if you answered true to any of these you should be banned for complete stupidity, or send me all your money so i can double it for you....
lets make more of these lag threads, they are so useful

Yeah, I was going to go volunteer for the game I pay to play, but sadly, my volunteering time was taken up in icelandic volcano relief efforts.
