I am just wondering where I can pick up really good L4s without having to go into any low sec areas? Right now I am in Osmeden and they are Q -17 and the system is 0.7. I did see a L4 Q13 in Fricoure, but it is 0.8 so would the one in 0.7 still be better since it is .1 lower sec? I am not sure how that all works really?

And the "special misision" that you revived is called a storyline mission. For every 16 missions you complete of the same level you get a storyline that give significant faction and corp standings boost. Just a warning if you let the mission expire you standings will take quite a hit.

Is that site up to date?
I thought I found a Sister's L5 agent on there, prompted a post on here yesterday to get someone else's lazy ass looking.
L5 agents were culled, as I recall.

I thought your standing would only go down if you declined more than one mission every four hours? I have never heard that letting it expire hurts your standing at all?

Letting a mission expire is effectively the same thing as declining one, it's just unlikely to have a standings impact given the nature of mission expirations.
You'd have to basically let a mission expire and then within the next 4 hours, decline another mission. You obviously can't decline a mission and then take the hit from an expiring mission, since missions take longer than 4 hours to expire.

I haven't used Eve-agents in a long while so cant tell you if it has been updated. I found it quite unreliable and out of date. it has agents that don't exist and agents that have been removed, especially the old Hi sec lvl V agents.
Try this site, http://agents.eve-commander.com/,I have yet to find any mistakes and all the Hi sec lvl v agents have been removed as have all the courier lvl V agents.

It used to be that if you let a normal mission expire you would take a faction and corp hit, it was changed a couple of expansions ago, 1 or 2 years back.
I believe you still take that hit if you let a storyline expire, but cant confirm since I don't want to risk the loss.

Depends what you mean by "expire."
If you let an offer expire, nothing happens – you've just ignored the agent. If you let a mission expire, you get a loss – it's the same as if you abandon it. If you decline a mission, you may get a loss if you do it too often (more than once every 4h, which requires some effort to do with storylines).
I've ignored storyline offers for over a year and never had anything bad come out of it. ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

Yes you jogged my memory! I always ignore the lvl V story lines and haven't taken a hit.

Excellent! TYVM for this new site!
Oh and I do not accept the storyline mission and let it expire, I ignore it entirely and let it expire.

Are you sure about that? I had a buddy who started playing then went on Vacation. While he was gone his tutorial missions expired (they were just offered not accepted.) when he got back he had nasty grams in his mail and those agents wouldn't talk to him again.
Personally I make sure I decline a mission before it expires if I'm not going to complete it for any reason.

don't know about lowsec, but i used to mission in .5 system with agents of -15 and -12 quality and then moved to 0.7 system, to l4q18 agent, who gives about twice lp. so, i think, that fricoure would be better in your case.

If you widen your horizons a bit, there is a really nice Minmatar Lvl 4 Q18 in a "real sec" 0.47 hi sec Gallente system.
He works for "Freedom extension" Admin department.
Note: Many old outdated lists show admin as 50% courier, this is incorrect, the correct ratio is 75% combat 25% courier. I can dig out the data mining project that rewrote the mission ratios if required.
I was getting around 8,600 lp's per mission from him and no low sec at all. That's with both connections skills at lvl V.
Standing required is 6.9 to Freedom or min faction.

Edited by: Vormic on 19/04/2010 18:51:16 Ah well Minmatar and Gallente are allies right? So I would have no problems doing missions for them. I want to get 10 with Gallente Navy first though and I don't want to lose any Gallente standing of course. Then I will def look into your suggestion. That sounds excellent. Thank you.

If Fed Navy standings are your goal, make sure that wherever you go the story lines are from a Fed Navy Agent. A combat mission will give you a huge corp standings boost, around 33%. This will more than compensate any losses from a higher sec system or lower Q.
One Agent to avoid is the one in Jel, he has good specs' but will send you to low sec for a lot of missions.

This is the guy I am going to check out now since I just got high enough.
Vreau Roergette 4 Q +13 Corporation: Federation Navy / Command Faction: Gallente Federation - Region: Sinq Laison - System: Fricoure (0.8) Station: Fricoure VIII - Moon 2 - Federation Navy Assembly Plant Required Standing: 6.65 - Type: BasicAgent

Edited by: Contralto on 19/04/2010 19:52:09 Only downside to that agent is there are 7 storyline agents within 3 jumps, and none closer, but only 2 are Fed Navy. Only way to check which agent will be selected is by doing 16 missions and taking pot luck.
Hate to say it but it seems the best agent would be in Dodixie, there are 2 storyline agents in the same system and one in Aunia next door,
Its Q13 0.9 system, but getting that guaranteed storyline will have you to 10.0 way faster than if your storylines are for another corp.
major downside here is its a Hub and full of Scammers and Ninja Salvagers and worse! best bet would be to just grind up standings as fast as possible and Gtfo.

Dodixie agent won't give low sec missions right? Will story lines be low sec? I might try him.

Im pretty sure there will be no low sec missions of either type. Dodixie is the favourite Gallente mission hub, im sure that wouldnt be the case if Low sec was involved. Personally I would hate to mission in such a "Cess pit" Fun if you like a busy local though.

This. Take a small quality hit and use less popular agents. You will thank yourself every time you see someone ***** about mission griefing.

I ignore all storylines, have never taken a faction hit.
They do send you an eve mail saying they are disappointed blah blah, and they won't "talk to you again" because they won't "talk to you" in the first place. Storyline agents don't have normal mission offers and will tell you to get lost if you open a convo.
edit: and just to remind you, there is still no divider between posts and sigs.

word to the wise vormic. you may want to step down a notch from the "best" agents. they tend to be overly busy and those systems are often infested with salvage thieves and their ilk. bit less money per hour but a good deal more peace to work in.
