Well i have all skills to fly either one effectively, just need to start training citadel torp and cap projectile.... same goes with rev just need to train guns and dread skill, so sense i am so close only needing to train the gun skills and dread skill which one am i better off in? i have never done pos bashes or cap fights, so i dont know what most alliances consider the better dread.

Given the current state of fleet lag I would recommend the rev as it is pretty lag resistant once you target something and get it to fireing with the no ammo use. Now once lag has been squashed to pre dominion levels then the nag starts to look nice with its better overall dps and abililty to change damage type to more closely exploit whatever resist hole is on the current target. But the rev is still nice even in that situation so ask your alliance mates what they would prefer you to bring on cap ops.

Problem i see most with nagle is split weapons. It disgusts me greatly. If not that the dps is lessened, theres that it doesnt feel natural :P

Look at it this way; for surgery would you prefer to use a scalpel or a sledgehammer?
If you choose A, the Rev is for you If you choose B, the Nag is your weapon of choice.
Since the changes the Nag is definately a viable dreadnaught, good tank and gank capability but in large fleet fights can suffer from wearing the lag-hat.
The Rev is pretty much a space-Toyota, well built, solid and reliable...but just a tad boring as the world and his wife have one too! Please resize your signature to the maximum allowed of 400 x 120 pixels with a maximum file size of 24000 bytes. Navigator |

What about for hotdropping other capitals? Come in and GTFO situations, like in lowsec would the nag be better i heard it has better DPS close range.

Well, keep in mind that all dreads have both short and long range capability. But you are correct, the Nag is probably better Vs. specific hotdrop targets due to better tracking of autocannons and reliability of Torpedos. Bring along a rapier freind for extreme awesome when engaging a webbed or/and TPed capital. Lots of little things came together to make the nag great for specific target hotdrops. Basically the projectile boost along with specific changes to capital weapon stats have made it the highest dps dread able to quickly melt all manner of targets provided they have been properly webbed and tp. It doesn't have the most spectacular tank of all the dreads but for hotdrop ganks your local tank is usually irrelevant even if you get primaried as you will typically outnumber and outclass your foes to a rather large degree so they simply don't live long enough to do any real counter damage.

Nag is basically a capital Typhoon when it comes to training.
You got capital guns, citadel torps and citadel cruise in order to arm the thing. Plus it's gone from being armor tanked to being shield tanked so I ended up having to train both.
I think the Rev is simply large lasers + armor.

IIRC, you can get a rev to perma run 1 rep + guns, or 2 reps and no guns(while in siege!)

I don't remember who it was, but it had a curse and NOS in it (old nos) and it said 99 problems but cap ain't one.
And its impossible for a rev to be good at EHP, dps and have decent cap, unfortunately. One of those aspects will undeniably suffer as you improve on the other two.

The Revelation is the most popular dread for a reason.
- No ammo use - High EHP - Good DPS - All 3 hardpoints are the same thing! - Armor tanker - Good, because 99% of logistics/carriers are fitted for armor repair. - You can put Miner 1's on it and pretend you are Chribba.
Both are passable dreads. The Revelation is better for POS bashing, and performs admirably in hotdrops. The Nag does fine with POS bashing, and is a 'bit' better for hotdrops.
