If you donŠt pay 100 mil you can go to a test server - the fun is to have risk! And reward: 800 mil ISK for the winner!

Just curious why you picked 20km as the starting distance? Seems like if you are a Tempest/1400 user or Apoc/Arma beam/tach user, you are at a serious disadvantage in this contest. I love your idea and would love to enter a team on Geeklab's behalf, but would like to see the rules change a bit to allow users of before mentioned BS types to be more useful. Maybe just move the starting distance back to 45km or so? Just a thought.

Rules could be changed to "all warp in at distance they want". I choose 20 km because this range will cause instant battle and 20 km is usually the distance to fight after 1 group jumped into another, since the gate will drop you 19 km away and the defenders are usually hugging the gate.
Ok - imagine we have 2 groups starting at 200 km distance. This will favorise Caldary BS very much and make dampeners uber. It could take hours before the battle is over. If the battle is long range, my team would be Caldary only.
Acceptable would be that both teams give their favorised range they want to start, the middle is calculated and then the teams can fit.
I think the rules can be discussed by all participating teams. No need to finally fix it here. What shouldnt be changed is that we fight for 800 mil ISK and i also like to have 1 ship of all shipclasses and 5 vs 5, cause this are usually the best battles without lag and good to handle.

I'd be willing to put a team together assuming the time of the event isn't too bizarre for my schedule (I'm not euro).
Only problem is that I'll be gone as of thursday, and wont' be back until jan 4th...so if you happen to be having it after that, msg me in game or something.

I'm trying to come up with tactics, and just wanted to make sure that there would be no assault frigates, or heavy assault ships...is this the case?
Doesn't matter to me either way, I just want to know.
And I'm assuming you won't be banning any items from the fight (i.e. ECM's)?

Xpohoc wants to ban ECM...but i think 5 on 5, with all avaiable equipment including tech II items and ships. Having a tech II ships boosts your team - but it also costs a lot of ISK - donŠt forget we are on Tranquility, not Chaos server. I am not sure if we will send a tech II cruiser if a BB does the job.

Banning ecm/damp would make the fight a bit unrealistic...but I guess I'd be willing to go along with that if necessary.
If you ever get the rules solidified let me know. I'm pretty flexible. This does sound like it could be fun, and the 100 mil shouldn't be too big of a problem.
But it looks like you won't get enough corps to make the event worth the time since most of the corps with the money are either afraid of losing, afraid of getting scammed, or too busy making more money...

I would like to see some more room for ship types such as having 2 frigs or 2 cruisers instead of a battle cruiser since most dont use 1 of each.
But anyways sounds like a fun event count Burn Eden in.
PS. Does warping to an object in the battle field count as warping out?

I would think allowing warps would be bad. Everybody would use the fastest avaiable frig and have a sniper-setup in the BS. There could also be battles that go for hours. I though more of having short brutal battles.
