Hello guys,
I have a standing of 0.48 with Gallente Federation, and I need 0.5 to be able to join the militia.
I have been doing missions for a while now, but my standing is not going up and my agents have no more missions for me.
How can I tell whether an agent will contribute to the standing with Gallente Federation?

It seems odd that your agents would not have any more missions for you. What exactly do you mean by that?
I use Eve Agent Finder exclusively to plan my mission course. One of the options I like about it is that you can filter by agent faction. So, naturally, if you want to bring up your standings with the Gallente, use Gallente Faction agents, or, as I found out yesterday, use Minmatar faction agents and you will get an 80% faction standing increase with the Gallente for the same mission. Pretty cool.

I must be doing something wrong then...
I see my standing with Gallente Customs or something like that rise, but not with the whole Federation.
Can you tell me what you enter in Agent Finder to get those guys?
And they tell me: No more missions, bubba. That's it. End of the road.
Others tell me that I need a refferal or something.

Regular Agents, which are most of them, will keep giving you missions. Just stick with one agent usually. They will only refuse if you're standings drop, not likely to happen unless you kept declining within 4 hours. I think only the starter and epic arc agents stop giving missions. Also storyline agents will only give one mission at a time.
Faction standings only go up when you do storyline mission which are every 16 regular missions with a corp of a given faction and agent of the same level. If you click on the info of an Agent it will tell you the Faction it belongs to.
Also you need to relog when your standings go up for the server to see it, it's an annoying bug.
EDIT: As a guess I think your mixing storyline (Faction) agents with regular (Corp) agents.
To find agents the map is useful (F10) You go to your standings tab in the character screen, right click for info, look at agents tab to see which ones you can do then look on the map to see where they are. If you right click an agent and set route its a quick way of seeing how far away they are and what sec status the space is in.

Oh, ok..so I basically need to find an agent that will give me standings with Gallente Fed, and keep harrassing him untill I get a good one.
Also, re-log when I need to see status..

No, regular agents do not give you faction standings, only corp standings. Only storyline agents give Faction standings and only when referred after every 16 regular missions with any corp of that faction. Once you do that storyline mission you have to do another 16 regular ones to get another mission. That's why it takes ages to get Faction standings. You could also train a few levels of the Connections skill which increases the standings you already have. One level is likely enough for what you want. |

Sounds to me like your still doing the tutorial missions, those agents do run out of missions, just get out of that system a little bit and you will find a agent.

I did tons of missions for one agent in a ChemalTech station and did not get story missions as usual. I was perplexed until I realized that said agent worked for the InterBus, and was not affiliated with any faction.
Doh!
