For many years I have been roaming space in my rusty old ship. Armaments and armour are not really present but fortunatly my ship also doesn't seem worthwhile to target or bring down.
Heck I am sure that even after looting and salvaging my ship the value of the gained booty wouldn't even make the locktime worthwhile. This has always been my blessing but alas also my curse.
I am not a hotshot pilot and bravery isn't one of my virtous either so I never brought it to Frredomfighter or even a privateer in search for the real large riches in space. To be honest I would be afraid if I would less invisible.
So this is how my daily routine looks like.
I live in the lower decks of a station, not going to mention what station since most stations have decks as I live at. We don't have those nice shops around here that the hotshot pilots visit and our main food exsists in the form of synthfood and if we get lucky a supplement to keep malnutrition at bay. If I am lucky I made enough ISK the day before to have soem left to refuel my ship. I don't have one of those fancy ships that get their powersupplies from nucleons and photons in space and all them other fancy ways to fuel their ships.
After scounging some food and water supplies I go over to the lower back docking bay. Well you can hardly call it a dockingbay but shuttlesized ships or smaller can dock and even get some maintenance if there are spare parts that is.
So I climb into my ship and check if my graplinghook is in order, tractorbeams are on my wishinglist but the price for them is astronomical. My spacesuit is in workingorder so I set out and go search for wreckages I can manage. Or if I am really lucky find a container in space that is of salvagable size. I always have to consider size since I can't haul in that much and with my luck in the passt I just have to go for the most valuable stuff since the rest will be gone once I get back to the spot my find is at.
My ship has a 0.1 AU warp capability which limits me to one system for most part. I can go to a neighbouring system if I made enough ISK for a 4 day trip. Sadly enough that happened once but my luck dictted an engine revision first.
After several hours of flight I finally manage to get within several hundred kilometers of a nice asteroid belt. I turn on my scanner but nothing to be found. I plot course to the next belt and hit my thrusters at max speed. My ship starts to rattle and everytime I wonder if it's the last time my engines fire up.
I don't know why my courage isn't all that glorious as that of my sisters and brothers, but the idea of being killed and waking up in a new body is a horrifying thought. I wouldn't feel me anymore, just a reflection of me.
Second belt I turn on my scanner again and a vague bleep on my screen indicates there is something in the belt. After scanning a bit longer it's clear that the object is at drift. I triangulate the exact position and start heading towards it.
A small spot on my screen starts to grow and I can imagine what a beautyfill frigate the now pile of wreckage must have been. Looking closer I start to identify certain parts of the ship and now know what it was. A Rifter. A lean and mean ship. A dream to fly one and search the universe for richness, but I also know flying one makes me more visible so also more of a target.
I shudder at the thought of real conflict and focus back to my task at hand.
My targetting computer finds a spot where my graplinghook can get hold and I fire it off. As always the aim is good and I can start hauling the wreck towards my ship. In the meantime I start putting on my spacesuit and set my tools ready to go outside and check the wreckage and strip the usefull parts.
While the ship slowly get's pulled towards my ship another light starts to bleep on my screen. I run to the controls and see that another ship, a lot bigger than mine is heading to the belt I am at.

We all know how you feel.
We all started our new lives as capsuleers doing pretty much the same thing.
YouÆll figure out a good path for yourself soon enough.
In the meantime, what other qualifications do you have? There are a lot of good corporations hiring right about nowà.

I wake up and find my ship at shambless. Lifesupport at minimal and engines not responding. What has happened? I try to recollect.
Ah yes, I was in a belt trying to get some bit's of scraps from a wreckage I had found. The another ship came into sensorrange and before I could ungrapple the wreckage it was in the belt. A sleak cruiser, one of those awesome monsters of the void. It was a Thorax class cruiser and my ship surely wasn't a match for something like that.
I got locked and warpscrammed almost immediatly.
A signal from my com's indicated I was being hailed and trembling with fear I opened channel's
"For trying to steal my kill I am going to give you something for free"
Then my ship got hit by a single shot and was incapacitated.
I think they then scanned my ship and found it not worthwhile to spend more ammo on it and just let it drift as debris.
I saw how they pulled the wreckage I had stumbled upon towards them with a tractor and then another beam started toi disassemble the ship thouands of times faster then I could ever have done.
They warped out of the belt leaving me back as the trash most New Eden pilots look upon my kind.
So there I was, sitting in a shot up ship, barely lifesupport and no engines.
How fortuante he didn't deem me worthy another shot because a clone now seemed like something very worthwhile if I could ever bring up the ISK to buy one.
Lights in my ship started to dim to preserve energy for the lifesupport and all I could do is hope and pray...

I am assuming this is a memoir of sourts and not a currently occuring incident. If it is, it would be prudent to notify us or the local authorities so that search and rescue operations can commence immediately. ----------------------------------------------

I sharp pain went through my chest as the tip of the boot was planted there with force. Another wakeup call for an 18 hour workday.
My space travelling days were over and I had come to accept it.
Scrubbing out waste out of the giants bulks of ships and getting barely paid enough to pay the intrest and survive was now my every day concern, seven days per week.
Ow I got found in the belts, barely alive and taken to a station where I got basic medical attention. Since the doctor was of questionable reputation and worked on the blacklist where most criminals went to the price was low for most but steep for my kind. So one could say I was purchased and paid for and now belonged to someone. I was offered to repay my debt at an insane intrestrate offcourse.
Slammed in the pits to do work a valued slave was too good for my life now seemed an endless drudgery of work, eat and sleep. There was no way I could ever pay off my debt due to the intrest nature so there I was, listed as low as a human lifeform could be with no other goal to just survive for another day.
