Hi, When dominion came out I had to use the 'ESC' menu to lower the graphics from their highest settings to get things working again.
I am using debian lenny, kernel 2.6.26, wine 1.1.37. As this works for tranquility I'd hoped it would also work for sisi.
I just upgraded my sisi client. After logging in once, the thing crashed after entering the hanger. After that, logging in produces a flickering image of the intro movie and then crashes again. All this is probably the 'high graphics' quality settings problem again.
So, is there any sneaky way I can edit some file somewhere to lower my graphics settings?
The errors I am getting are: fixme:d3d_surface:surface_load_ds_location (0x1acb48) Not supported with fixed up depth stencil wine: Assertion failed at address 0xb7f2c424 (thread 001c), starting debugger...

Everything's hunky-dory for me, all graphics settings are working with no crashes or glitches.
Try updating Wine. Also, make sure you've renamed the jukebox directory in you're new install.
I'm using ubuntu 9.10's default nvidia 185.18.36 opengl driver, and ...
wine 1.1.42 xorg 1.6.4 kernel 2.6.31-20-generic-pae

I just installed wine 1.1.43 and now bloom has a much more notable negative impact on framerate.

Make that when both shadows and bloom are combined.

Ok, I'll try the latest wine and will do some zapping of stuff. I did do the juke box trick, but maybe other old stuff was in the way as well.

Ok, it works now: - installed wine 1.1.43 - zapped all EVE stuff in .wine directory - installed sisi client again - renamed jukebox directory - logged on and lowered graphics quality asap
One or more of the above did the trick.

Small update. What works without trying to hit invisible buttons at startup is directly editing prefs.ini in your local settings. Go into your wine directory and find it by typing: find . -name prefs.ini
The following settings seem to work for me: bloomType=0 lodQuality=1 shaderQuality=3 shadowsEnabled=0 textureQuality=0 but this may be to conservative.
