Edited by: Gamer4liff on 23/04/2010 22:03:50 Or at least editors who know a bit more about EVE. I'm reading the 8 page or so EVE spread and it's riddled with errors. For example:
Originally by: pcgamer
April 2005 After months of patiently infiltrating every level of a corporation they were hired to destroy, Guiding Hand Social Club operatives jumped ship stealing everything not tied down and blowing up the rest. The target corporation loses 30 million ISK (EVE's currency) in assets, bankrupting it instantly.
I mean come on, really? really?
At least the article presents eve well, even if riddled with inaccuracy. -----------

Right, but directly under that is:
Quote:
Summer 2006 In the largest bank heist in EVE history, one banker makes off with 790 Million isk (estimated to be worth $100,000 at the time) that he convinced investors to put into his virtual bank, before proceeding to spread rumors of his real-life death to throw vengeance-seeking investors off his trail
I wish I had 790m isk that was (estimated to be worth $100,000). Nevermined that that number in billions was debunked if I recall anyway. -----------

Edited by: Grez on 25/04/2010 01:21:18 This is why you buy PC Gamer UK. Their articles get sold and translated, sometimes coming up incorrectly translated or copied.
Jim Rossignol is a pretty big EVE fan if I remember correctly, and is one of the main writers of PC Gamer. I doubt he'd get such an amount wrong. I myself have the GHSC heist issue of PC Gamer UK, and all the amounts are correct. ---
