I salute all Servicemen and women who have and are currently serving and those who have fallen in battles past.

Seconded.
All to often we forget the contribution of Commonwealth soldiers who bravely fought for the Empire.
We should never forget their sacrifice.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young. Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow. They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted, They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them. Lest we forget.

Went to a dawn Anzac day service when I was living in Australia last year, and then spent the day drinking with vets and aussies alike afterwards. As a Brit, it was a bit odd. Fifty percent of Aussies there used me as an outlet to get the British-hate out of their systems for Gallipoli. For the other fifty percent, they were happy I was with them, showed the most commonwealth camraderie I've ever felt. Was a good day.
Anyway. Lest we forget.

I was not aware of what Anzac Day was until I looked it up.
No matter the flag they were under, soldiers that answer their countries call should be recognized everywhere. They willingly offer to pay the ultimate price so that others can live a better life. There isn't anything more deserving of respect.
Celebrate your Anzac day southern hemisphere friends and remember those that fought the good fight!
