What would you do if, for no apparent reason, EVE online suddenly stopped working, and CCP and it's employees disappeared of the face of the planet?
Would you go play another MMO? Curl up in the fetal position? Go into the bathroom and cry while punching your reflection?

I don't think EVE will ever disappear. Even if CCP folded, some other company would buy it and continue development.

I'd probably give up MMOs in general. Everything else just seems bland and watered down. Restrictive and railroaded in progression. ___________________________________ "In the land of predators, the lion does not fear the jackal." -Dexter |

Smartass answer: I would whine on the forums about the unscheduled downtime.
Real answer: I would probably re-subscribe to Champions Online. That game has a great team working on it, and will probably be pretty fun in a couple of years. To bad it was practically in alpha build when it was released.
Besides, I'm FB friends with Bill Roper so I should probably be playing his MMO, just to show support. Unfortunately, EVE is way more fun and I simply do not have time for EVE+Other MMo atm. ====== Your signature is freakishly huge for this forum. Please resize according to the forum rules, thanks. I'd probably try out Darkfall, since from what I've seen that's the only game that has near the same game mechanics and player mentality as EVE.

Well, for the last 8 years or so I've always had an MMO to play. I first started with crappy free ones until I discovered WoW, which sucked several years of my life away, which I don't regret because when I played, before it was dumbed down and everything was handed to everybody on a plate, it was a very challenging, good sociable game. I met better friends through that game than I ever have in real life, all from other countries, and still talk to a few, managed to convince one to come to EVE with me, turns out he likes it, so I at least have one person I know I can trust and do things with and whatnot.
When I quit WoW there was a vacuum where I jumped from MMO to MMO for a while, I think I tried them all. Age of Conan, LotRO, Warhammer, some old ones whose names I forget, then I found EVE, which filled the hole.
I suppose if EVE suddenly stopped existing I'd try LotRO again, I rather enjoyed it. Not playing in guilds, because as somebody said, guilds in those types of games tend to be full of ********s and kids, but I can have just as much fun playing on my own.

Actually no. I think a company like Bioware could really make EVE rock. |

Maybe these two. I doubt I would play another MMO, since EVE has ruined all other MMOs for me. I can't play them for longer than about a month without getting bored.
Fortunately, I have tons of other non-MMO games to play, so I wouldn't get bored, though I would definitely miss EVE.

I'd go find them. The most likely scenario would be a b-day party gone horribly wrong, or right and them all slouching at a bar somewhere recovering from the hangover. Or possibly a business trip during volcano season. I would grab my shotgun, and my chainsaw, head to Iceland, and explore the place where CCP HQ is.
And yes, I WOULD grab the shotgun and chainsaw, because if CCP suddenly went 'poof' like that, there is bound to be scary things in that place ( there probably are now too! ).
Finally after killing hordes of zombies, monsters and the evil demon that took over their place, I'd make it to the Eve mainframe, and turn it back on, so Eve is Saved :)
Then I'd wonder where the bonus level is. :p
