Somewhere on BattleClinic, a comment on a fitting for a cheetah says:
"MWD, agility mods not WCS. You have 3 modules on that require a lock on, WCS don't help with that."

What does he mean by "3 modules that require a lock on"? And why would WCS not help?

Fitting a WCS kills your ability to target anything by penalizing both your targeting range and scan resolution by 50%.

because wcs are for ***s, and they limit your targeting range and scan res if i remember right.

Indeed, a travel ship needs to be able to lock things quickly at long ranges.

Im still an absolute noob, so please bear with me, but given that the Cheetah is mostly for exploration and scouting, aren't WCS important to escape from tacklers and gate camps? Or is its speed enough to escape? |

Essentially what they are saying is that any ship that needs to target something else is rendered useless once you start putting WCS on. Each WCS, as stated above, cuts your lock range in half, and doubles the time it takes for you to lock something. So the more you use, the more useless you become. I haven't looked at the fit, but I assume its a multi-purpose hack/decode setup? Both of those modules require a lock, and if you have a lock range of 500m and a lock time of 3 minutes.... well, you are going to be one boooored pilot.

Covops cloak and MWD generally speaking are.
I'd probably put nanofibers for evading trouble rather then WCS.
