Is the gain from level 4 storyline missions greater than that of level 3, 2, 1 storyline missions? I assume it is, but would like to check, as blitzing many low level missions is faster than many high level missions.
My goal is to improve my Caldari State standings with the eventual goal of a highsec POS, so a large number of storylines are going to be required.
Any advice would be welcome.

the way i understand it, Lvl4 storylines will give you alot more standing (as each lvl of agent yields higher rewards) also the reason people blitz courier missions is because they are "faster?" leading to storyline missions quicker than any other mission type could be wrong

That sounds like a reasonable suggestion with the courier missions, thank you.

This will help your Faction Standing. It can be used for one Faction or all the main Factions.

I can confirm this.
Youll need a hauler capable of up to 6000m3 of space to do 95% of the courier missions. Hit your 6Km3 and then fit for agility and warp to zero. If you can fly a cloaky hauler you'll cut your mission times down even more. Cepters make GREAT small package delivery boys (like the ares).
Look into Archive and Accounting agents for the highest courier kick out. And know who your storyline agent is. If you can't survive level IV combat missions, don't be afraid to decine and wait out the timer. You can decline storyline missions without penalty if you didn't accept them. You can get a storyline kick out every 2 hours if your really quick on the warp to zero button...

basic standing gain increase is linear per mission level: if a mission type would give 1% at L1, it gives 2% at L2, 3% at L3, and 4% at L4. ________________________________ : Forum Bore 'Em : Foamy The Squirrel |

You could try to go to Haajinen in the region Lonetrek. There it has a station Haajinen XI - Moon 9 - Lai Dai Corporation Warehouse with 6 agents - level 2 to level 3 - who all offer lots of transport missions. Do the occasional combat missions these agents assign you and otherwise gather the transport missions. Once you have 6 transport missions assigned to you do them with an industrial and all at once, and by optimizing the route. It is good fun and with the occasional combat mission worth several evenings of EVE. --

Join the Caldari millitia and run level 3 missions in a SB.
I was amazed how quickly my faction standings increased for a short amount of time spent.
If you don't fancy that try cosmos missions as they give you gains quite quickly as well.

oohh heck with all the itty bitty advice going around...
Just run all the Tutorial missions for your choosen faction...there are 4-5 agents per region all in 1 station and each one of those mission(sets) are storylines.

This is not correct. For regular missions I don't keep logs and its been a long time since I've run anything other than level 4's, but I recall the many corp standings grinds I've done quite well, and I do keep logs of faction standing gains. All the below logs were with Social IV at the time I did the missions, about 12 months ago.
Minmatar level 1 "A Special Delivery" - 0.149% faction gain with Minmatar.
Amarr and Minmatar level 2 "A Special Delivery" - 2.0302% and 1.1723% faction gain with Amarr and Minmatar respectively.
Amarr and Caldari level 3 "A Special Delivery" - 2.374% and 2.3589% faction gain with Amarr and Caldari respectively (I actually have a few Caldari level 3s for this which vary a small amount from each other)
Caldari, Gallente and Sisters of Eve level 4 "A Special Delivery" - 8.4%, 8.4% and 14% faction gain with Caldari, Gallente and SSE respectively.
I also have logs for every other story mission you can imagine. Perhaps the most telling one is the level 3 Materials for War Preparations that I've had give MORE standing gain than the level 4 versions of the same mission.
As I don't have hard data for regular missions I won't expound all my theories for those, except to say that I recall vividly the difference between level 1's and level 2s was more than double, thus my belief that the linear claim is not correct.
For story missions, my data and observations indicate that the standing gain is modified by the size and time limit on the bonus payment. That is in turn determined by an equation based on the average time that it takes players to complete that mission. Because of this, the standing gain for a particular story mission can and does vary from one run to the next, especially if considerable time elapses between runs. There are base numbers used for each level no doubt which set starting points and potential maximums, but the variation based on time makes it almost impossible to determine the nature of those underlying numbers.
This is why Materials for War Preparation makes me cry, because everyone gets the minerals before they even accept the mission, so the hand in is always instant, so the bonus time is always kept ultra-short by the extremely short average completion time, which in turn means you get the tiniest trickle of standing gain imagineable. While at level 4 everyone knows the deal and completes it super fast, some people who do the level 3 version haven't been playing the game long enough to be familiar with the mission and how it works, so they might actually run it normally. Thus higher average completion time, longer time limit for bonus (and larger bonus), and larger standing gain. |
