Edited by: kolguy II on 29/04/2010 13:58:55 hello there,
I am relatively a new player who has started doing missions for fun started abt a few months back on and off when i had free time ... after help from some friends who i came know from other games ...i worked my way to lvl 4 missions. I scrapped together enough creds to get a raven after weeks of work and started doing a couple of lvl 4 missions solo. Now i do get random people jumping in on my missiona and wanting to salvage ... hnever had a problem with it.
Offlate i had people jumping in and looting the item i need for finishing the mission and blackmailing me for money ... or trying to setup a trap to destroy my ship if i am careless. Now i belive that some of this is part of a game or is it ?
Is stealing something from the mission that i have no other way to get part of the game ?
i had one of these guys asking me for 30 million ... now it took me several days of doing lvl 4 missions to get something like that... so if i want to comply and give him the credits wht is the point of doing that mission ?
if i dont agree and i try to engage in fighting and he has 4 people jump on (has happened) i am at a disadvatage here to ...
so what is the point of doing missions ... is it part of the game to make it so diffcult that new player cant make his/her way ?
I am just trying to find an opinion on this, I understand some players have fun being pirates and i have no negative feeling towars him/her but is that going to cost every new player any chance of trying to learn this game.
My only thought that i want to put through to this is that such mission important loot ... shouldnt be allowed to be taken by players who don't have the mission.
your opinion is much encouraged... please keep the flaming of the new player to a limit.

thank you for your response
I understand and I have already done this three times ... i invariably have my standings up with only one corp ... which has made sure that any system i move i face the same issue. while it has taken be a few months to get to the position of doing a lvl 4. So is going through same process needed for it ?

well the diffculty i find is that i got standings with only one and that some of missions i lost to these "thives" were storyline. so my standings took a hit. So i am strugling to find a lvl 4 agent for the corp i got standings with in a area that is not populated.

so the only solution is to keep moving ... my next question ... now i want to be agresive against my thief and want to hit him back but i cant, why the missions forces me to use a particular fitting and in that i got no room to prevent myself from being jammed or from being warp scrabled. So i cant fight back... which means i am forced to pay or keep running.
So if the thief is allowed to steal then i should be not forced using particular fitting in that mission i can very happily use a more pvp oriented fitting so then as and when i am challenged i can respond but game dosent give me that option now does it ?

Originally by: TriIIian I wouldnt pay them thats for sure. It will only make them come back and try it again. i would just leave the mission till after downtime when the mission will be reset. You wont get the mission bonus but I'm sure that dosnt compare to the bribe the pirates are trying to get. If you still want to run missions while waiting for DT then find another agent close by and run missions for them while you wait. It would be even better if you had 2 level 4 agents in the same system or even better same station, but that would just be good luck.
this wht i did until i couldnt find the acceleration gate the next day on one of these missions ...
