I've been playing eve about a year, and I don't think I will be trying the 3d vision any time soon - but I was wondering if it works well for eve, or if it add some depth the space? I have a monitor that is too large to fit the refresh rate req'd, but I fancy eve might look great with it -assuming you could still read the UI

It doesnt work, as all the models rendered in EVE are not True 3D Some are 2D Sprites, which do not display correctly with stereo vision glasses. However, in some games like `Live For Speed` (racing simulator), I works quite nicely. |

I've found it works OK. All the UI is 2d. So, anything you would click in game is 2d. If you only really use the overview, you can get away with it. It does look pretty cool to fly around in 3d. But... IMO the cost outweighs the benefit unless you're using almost no depth.
I wish CCP would work on this, considering the lore says there is stereoscopic vision on dem drones.

Doesn't work.
Because of lighting effects the 3D doesn't work at all. The UI is too close to your face because it's 2D which makes it hard to click '3D' objects.
Given that most objects are at a distance anyway, the 3D is a little pointless. The stars don't seem any further away (because they are a 2D backdrop) and the texture procedures can make planets look flat.
3D Vision is a great product and I've been using it for over a year now. There are some fantastic experiences to be had (Avatar game, Left4Dead, Resident Evil 5) but EVE isn't one of them.

Why would you expect it to work? EVE is not a 3D (as in 3D vision) game. Just like the 3D movies...it has to be made for 3D in order for the glasses to work. ___________________________________________________ CSM - Bring back Medium Shader! |

Incorrect, it works out of the box with most games. The quality of the experience may vary. It works perfectly with official 3D ready titles. It works great in most recent titles that have little interface or a 3D interface. It works poorly with titles that rely on heavy use of a 2D interface.
No-one would spend several hundred dollars on a 120Hz display and glasses for just the seven or eight 3D ready games currently on the market.
