I am also having an issue after upgrading from an ATI HD 5770 to an ATI HD 7770. I first figured it was a driver issue with the new card and something odd, so even after a complete reformat and installing the stable driver and now having tried the beta driver then finally exchanging the card the random lockup will still occur.
At random times, most noticeably on the map view my entire computer will lockup causing me to have to power the system down and bring it back up.
Fixes I've tried so far beyond previously mentioned steps.
Lowering graphics settings (Fullscreen) - Random crash still happens Avoiding the map - will still happen, usually after targeting an object (Any object) EVE repair tool Turning off my Anti-Virus
Adjusting Catalyst Control Settings: individually disabling and then disabling all Catalyst gaming performance options (Giving the game complete control) - Still crashed.
I have also moved EVE from my 7200RPM drive to an SSD that was only containing EVE at the time - still crashed
My latest attempt has my settings at a medium level and running in full windowed mode but without running for a few more days I won't be able to confirm as a temporary fix as the crash is still random.

Have the same problem on a HD 7970. Can also add that I only have this problem with EVE. Other games run just fine, like for example Diablo 3 and BF3 on max settings. |

Yeah same here. Went from 5770 to a 7770. Did what you did, plus a lot more trying to fix it. Nothing works, but hey, on the plus side, all my other games work GREAT! CCP needs to get us a fix. |

Iv'e got the same issue, random freezing, especially when i open the map etc. Asus 7970 DCII. Iv'e filed a petition and bug report, everybody who encounters the freezing should do the same, AMD and CCP needs to do something about this, and fast. As it is now it's unplayable, which isn't much fun considering i'm paying a monthly sub. PLEASE do something. |

+1 on this
i just upgraded to a 7870 a few weeks ago, ever since then i've had random OS freezing with no BSOD. particularly with multiple clients open.
i would RMA the card except this only happens with EVE, no other game causes this. i can run deus ex: HR and diablo 3 on max settings with no issues whatsoever all day. the card's performance is actually quite good and it's not getting hot in any games, eve included.
i've tried different AMD drivers back to 12.3, a full OS reinstall, and a fresh eve install with no success.

I have an nvidia card and I'm having game performance problems. There are other threads in this subforum with people reporting problems that have nvidia.
ATI may be ****, but the problems are not isolated to players with ATI. |
