Why is it, that theoption to set a route via the map doesnt show me a highsec route between Jita and dodixie, even if I set autopilot settings to prefer save systems? Manualy I can create such a route easily.

Usually when I try and auto route, I get routed around gates with high traffic which almost always takes me into low sec.
I just write down the highsec gates to get to Jita and warp to 0 the entire way. I think I only get into .5 or .6 systems but I don't linger.

Have you taken jita off your avoid list?

yes, I did that. Didnt know about the avoiding high traffic systems thing. Can I make the autopilot include them as well?

Hmm, not sure, never had a problem getting jita - dodixie, but I dont go via the map, I just put Dodixie or Jita in via people and places and it sorts it out for me.

I just tested it, making bookmarks for both systems, then setting a route via peoples and places. Still one lowsec mixed in between. Any solutions to this? Or can I save a custom made route somehow?

Have you tried without making bookmarks?

Uncheck "avoid systems with recent pod kills" (or something to that effect)

That one was unchecked. Before trying it with bookmarks, I just set up the route on the map. Didnt work.

keep playing with it until it works. if it doesn't work at all, it's petition time. this is not a common problem you are having.

Lower your security slider in the autopilot section. Default is around 48, I think.

Edited by: Celia Therone on 01/05/2010 01:31:27 I've done the Dodixie to Jita run multiple times, usually by typing the name of one in the search box and right-clicking and using set destination and if I have the auto-pilot set up right it hasn't sent me into low sec.
Random suggestions: Completely clear your avoidance list. If you have a system like Uedama (iirc) in there then that could muck up your auto-pathing.
You are in either Dodixie or Jita when you're setting these routes?
Have 'Prefer safer', not 'shorter' or 'less secure' selected? If it's sending you into low sec then most likely either this is wrong or you have a vital intermediate system on your avoidance list.
Avoid pod killings un-checked.
What's your security penalty slider set to?

I must be extra special since I can go from Dodixie to Jita on AP all in highsec.
Maybe I'm just smart enough to know what I'm doing

I did all of that, except maybe being in Jita or dodixie at the time when I tried to create the route. I'll fumble around a bit more today and will probably ask a gm about it if I am still send the wrong route.

All highsec routes from Dodi to Jita pass Uedama, so try setting a route from Dodi to Uedama and then Uedama to Jita, and see what that gives you.

There is a slider that sets max nubmer of jumps by wich your route can be longer than default (fastest) one. Alternatively you can put all lowsec systems you get on the way in avoid list (later you can always uncheck "avoud systems on avoidance list", iirc). |

You made my day! I didnt knew what that slider was doing there exactly, the default setting on it was 1 for me. So no wonder I was lurked through lowsec time and time again. Thanks to all of you for your help.
