ok
Just a quick question what is largest increase in base price of item (in terms of % increase and not iskwise) someone has managed to do.
The item is not important but just curious for eg you buy up market @ 1mill per unit and relist at 10mill then the market does not reajust to its 1mill base price.
The reason i ask, is that i ran an experiment and bought up a low volume item in 4-4 about 2 weeks ago for 2.5mill and have since been selling that item at 15mill and lowest and item has gone is down to 13.999mill in terms of volume its not much maybe about 1 a day but its the % markup that im interested in ;) (unfortunatly only have 1 item left :( and can't get hands on any new ones)
cheers

If you get the right items, you can get them for 10-20k, and resell at 200k, slower turnover ofc, but nice profits and regular market...if you move the same items a few jumps, you can sell at 400k :)

During the last year, I sold 3 T2 items worth less than 1M at 700M, 350M and 550M. No screenshot because it has been months and I usually clear my cache and eve settings every months to keep it running smooth.
I never put crazy sell orders, but the way the market works, if someone buys some item that I am selling, if I'm the cheapest at that station, I always get the sale, but I receive the money from the order that the guy selected. I just love when it happens.

It's always fun to make someone burn the broker's fees then take the money.

i jacked the price of focused warp disruption scripts in jita from something like 200k(?) per to 29.9 mil, then somehow kept it at 2.9milish per for many days and made a killing. pure luck, but very funny. think it was within the last year so should be in the market data :D

280000% markup. I was buying something for 1 isk and selling for 2800. I made several million from this at a time when I had under 100mil, so it was definitely worth it. It was a rather obscure item, obviously.
On a more mainstream item, I've posted a 2000% markup, selling in the six digit range. My profit hasn't been quite so extreme as I generally pay to have it hauled and don't bother moving it myself.

When starbase charters first came out people simply did not bother with them much. I bought millions of units at about 5 isk each. I sold all of them off at about 2500 - 3000 isk per unit. I think that's my best mark up rate.

When I first started playing this game I used to fly around all over the cluster buying under priced "basic" and "micro" modules from buy orders and transport them to Jita to place on sell orders.
Made a wicked killing (for my budget) and held the highest number of many such items on the Jita market for some time but do not remember the % of markup. Financed my +5 implants that way as a noob. (swoon) I remember frantically searching eveo & Google to see if a BPO for them existed . I was/am such a noob!
I think many of those items are still in game but can't be arsed to fly that much again.

While not the biggest percentage increase ever, someone managed to sell an Orca in Heimatar for 380,000 isk a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately not to me..

No worries. I was in corp channel telling Roark how big of an idiot he made himself post facto. The error was reasonable given the sparseness of the interface. It was the tantrum afterward that was embarrassing. Was the number 2 reason I left TTI shortly thereafter. (Roark's ego was part of #1 - #82 reasons TTI of then sucked.) PS: Linked the old thread for nostalgic entertainment value.

Heh. Can't see that level of moralising and angst if someone made a mistake of that nature these days. Good to see that market tears have been going on since the beginning of time though. Presumably a hundred mill was a lot of cash in those days?

If I could turn this 8 on it's side I would add a % and claim victory!
The very first time I undocked from a n00by station there was a canister sitting there floating. In there was something(Can't remember exactly what) worth millions of ISK. I picked it up and docked, sold it instantly.
Why is it infinite profit margin? I was on a trail account. No RL cost, Zero ISK cost and since it was the first time I undocked my time cost was virtually nothing. Especially since I was playing the game free at the time.

Someone linked me a plex contract that had been sold for 30b. % is not so impressive, but still: damn!
Also someone has stocked some regions (Placid) with 8m shuttles in each station and seems to be getting sells every now and then. Would be quite a lot of effort to set up, but decent to keep track of once you have your orders running.

I wasn't around then but reading the tantrum was some decent drama. What it really lacked is someone calling out Roark for not offering to return the 1 tritanium.
