Well I have been playing eve for two years plus and have two accounts both with more than 12 million spell points. I have a drone BS on one and a Cruise missile BS on the other piloting a Dominix and a Raven. So I can two account lvl 4 missions pretty easily with both of them running and have made mucho isk. My question is what now? Cant see what to do apart from run missions over and over. Please dont say whatever you want as I cant see what the options are out there and so I am looking for suggestions on what I can usefully do with my accounts. Cheers. kev.

Sounds like you should get find a good (prefarble a PvP) corp and start doing something else entirely from running missions over and over in high sec.

As mentioned above, looking into PvP is probably the best choice. Check out Red vs Blue if you don't feel like commiting to a corporation at the moment.
WORD OF CAUTION: If you haven't PvPd before, having alot of ISK doesn't mean that you HAVE to use it. You don't HAVE to fly expensive battleships or whatever. Every ship has it's place, I'd recommend starting out small, in frigates, cruisers or perhaps battlecruisers.
If you are not interested in PvP, you could always try some L5s, or check out probing and complexes. Most of these have the added benefit of being in null and lowsec, so you'll have some challenge ahead, if you're going at it without friends.
Since you have alot of ISK, it could be worthwhile to look into the industrial and trading side of EVE.

There's your mistake
Don't think about EvE like you think about the most of the other MMOs. In EvE, you can do anything any time. And, yes - everything in EvE is much more fun when done with a couple of friends, so look up for a corporation that best suits your style of play.
Here's only a couple of things what can be done in Eve: - Epic Arc missions (factional in highsec or pirate in 0.0); http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Epic_mission_arcs - COSMOS missions (much more fun than regular ones by my opinion); http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/COSMOS - Exploration in highsec or lowsec (Core Probe launcher + Core Scanner probes = fun and profit); http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Exploration_guide - Wormhole exploration; - Manufacturing; http://eve-guides.com/ui/index.php - Research, Invention and copying of blueprints in POSes (Player Owned Structure); http://eve-guides.com/poss/index.php - Trading and market manipulation; - Factional warfare (you can enlist in a default FW NPC corporation on your own, or join a corporation that's already in FW); http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Factional_Warfare - Solo lowsec pvp, or lowsec roams with a couple of corp buddies (roams are generally much more fun, but that doesn't mean that you can't have some solo fun). You have two options here: to be a pirate, shoot everything that you think you can take down and lose sec status, or to be an anti-pirate, shoot only pirates and not lose sec status; - Highsec PvP/wars. Join a corporation that is declaring war decs all the time (there are quite a few out there), or take a look at the famous "Red vs. Blue" war. - Joining 0.0 corporation/alliance - this may sound extreme and only for hard-core players, but it's not. 0.0 is way more profitable, way more fun and (if you ask me) way much safer than lowsec.

You've made mucho isk... step away from the mission grinds and spend some of it. Joining Red vs. Blue and doing some PVP in frigates, then bigger ships, might be interesting to you. Then once you learn the mechanics of it, you could try to find a 0.0 corporation, get involved in some wars. The advantage of that is, in 0.0 space you can rat if you want to take a break from the fighting, or you can fight if you want to take a break from the ratting.
But, basically, spend the isk! And since this is supposed to be a PVP game, the choice of what to spend on should be obvious. If you don't like it, you could try trading, or making a corporation so that you can herd others and/or socialize / make friends.

Mr Smartguy pretty much covered it. I'd just add that you should look at some activity that will provide you with an in-game income without too much at-keyboard time. Look at R&D agents for datacores, setting up a reaction tower in lowsec, that kind of thing.
But above all else, look for some people who play at the same times as you, do the same kinds of things you want to do, and are recruiting :)

Congratulations on realizing what a lot more mission runners should. I would highly recommend trying some things that involve interacting with other players. This could be anything from flat out pvp (like everyone else is suggesting), to scamming (just come up with a semi-legit sounding investment and people will bite), to ninja salvaging (your knowledge of missions will give you a better start than most ninja salvagers), or even forum trolling.
And don't limit yourself to the roles that are commonly suggested. If you come up with something you like doing that doesn't fit in any category you know of, don't let that stop you from doing it or trying it.

Well, well.... that was a truly awesome series of replies. Thank you for taking the time out to help out and expand the game for me. I have gone from being bored stupid just running missions constantly to now being almost over whelmed with possibilities.
I have never been out to low sec space and wasn't even aware of of the red v blue war going on so maybe that's where I could start.
Many thanks again. Cheers. Kev.
PS Eve players are a lot more helpful than many other mmo players

Assume you mean Skill Points.
I would be a little concerned about this level of SP after 2 Years plus. Did you take a break? Your characters should be on 40M plus if you trained them continually for that period. Have you invested training time into the learning skills? Have you remapped? Are you using implants?

Edited by: xenonator on 05/05/2010 17:53:47 Sorry, yes I meant skill points. And yes I did take a break for a while there, mainly out of frustration with finding interesting things to do. My initial approach was mining.... I then focused on building a skill set that would allow me to run level 4 missions comfortably which I did. But enough level 4 missions for now anyhow.
I have never done a remap of my skill points as I have never felt the need to, I guess I could look at it. Maybe drop the mining skills and put them into exploration. But you never know I may want to mine at some point in the future.
From the replies I decided to build an exploration ship, a Heron, and try exploration out. Go find something interesting with one account and then use the Dominix to deal with what we find on the other account. Also to try and find a corp in 0.0 space to join for some whatever. Cheers. Kev.

You can not remap skill points, only attributes (Perception, Willpower, Charisma, Memory and Intelligence). Every skill group (for ex. Drones, Gunnery, Science, ...) has its own primary and secondary attribute. The speed of training a skill depends on how high the relevant attributes for that skill are. I would suggest you to make a skill plan that you like and use the "Optimize attributes" option inside EveMon.
One more advice about attributes and learning skills. The training of learning skills is pretty much done when you finish all basic learning skills on level 5 and advanced on level 4. You can train advanced learning skills on 5, but it would take approx. 3 years for them to pay off.

Holy crap, it would take 120 days to train all of the learning skills to level 5 (I only trained the learning skills that eve mon recommended for what i was training at the time). That's an awfully long time to commit to no real in game progression in a scenario where I am already struggling to find anything remotely interesting to do. I really wasn't aware that you could unlock advanced learning skills and am quite shocked to find myself gimped in this way. I guess I could do what I have done many time in the past with Eve which is don't play for 120 days and just log on for 5 minutes now and again to train some new learning skills. Seems like a lot of money every month to do nothing.
I guess I could fly around in a frigate pvping for 120 days but I am guessing that I would last about 2 minutes against all of those players that have been playing for years. To be honest PVP smacks of bullying, I've heard all the arguments about skill etc but pragmatically it comes down to a severely unbalanced fight against superior numbers or superior equipment. Ten ships at a jump gate against one, great fun.
Or I maybe I should just continue running level 4 missions for ever. kev.

Or... you could just train the advanced learning skills to 4. You'll be learning at 95% of the rate that the 5+5 guys are, and It'll only take a week or two.

Edited by: xenonator on 13/05/2010 06:13:14 Edited by: xenonator on 13/05/2010 06:06:52 Well I joined a low sec corp and trained for exploration and a covert ops ship (Buzzard) to try and alleviate the crushing boredom that is Eve. I just started to move my **** from Frarn (high sec space, maybe 0.9) towards 0.0 space and got ganked by three pirates right outside of the Frarn space station. Concord did nothing, they never fired a shot and I got podded, so bang goes my Raven and a whole bunch of T2 gear and implants. Eve online, what a total waste of time. Don't play it unless you want to hammer your head against the wall. There's nothing to do unless you want to hang around in groups and destroy what others have made. I have real life regrets in terms of dollars and time expended with respect to this game. cheers. kev.

EvE is a MMO. Solo approach can't take you much further than running level 4 missions for over 2 years. Get some friends, start socializing around with some corp, and you won't be fighting 10 man gangs on a gate on your own ;) Sounds like you really need to hang around other pilots - even a simple forum reply from someone made you realize that you have gimped yourself with learning skills throughout your entire gametime :P Nothing will improve your game experience as a good bunch of buddies.

edit: or possibly your new corpmates ganked you? That would suck.
